Chapter 16: A Moments Reprieve

-It seemed that the Turks couldn't keep away from the office conference room for very long the past few weeks. After Reno and Rude's little plight in Hallow Bastion castle after hours, Reeve was kind enough to look into the matter, and found that the cameras in the castle were still active, and connected to the Shinra server.-

So, you can look into footage from earlier today then Director?

-Reno asked, looking hopeful. For Rudes sake he hoped and prayed that the little girl he had found asking for his help had been spared a fate of being torn limb from limb by the heartless. However... that blood, it had looked terribly fresh. Rude sat uncomfortably at his seat, he almost didn't want to know, but his breaking heart needed to, for his own closure.-

Of course I can Reno. Your information on the little boy was very helpful today, if we are able to keep him talking to us, we may just be able to find out more about our missing 8 bodies. We've already partially confirmed your brother is alive, correct?

Yeah. Just don't make me push him too hard... he seemed like a sweet kid and I really don't want to scare him.

Reno, you be sure to ask him about Ienzo next time... I need to know.

-Murmured Rufus, whom had come to the meeting out of sheer curiosity. His Turks had not been ordered to enter the castle, only to survey the area for anything suspicious, and of course finding Roxas had been very helpful to there search. Elena came into the room and seated herself down next to Rude, Cait following behind her as he had been sent to fetch her, he seated himself down in reeves empty seat as the man was working on getting everything set up. Director Tseng was too busy getting out paper and preparing to take notes, he wanted to absorb every detail, just in case his people had missed something in his absence. Elena hugged Rudes arm and murmured softly.-

Its ok Rude...I.. I have a feeling she's ok.

-Rude bit his lip, muttering softly.-

She was just a little thing Elena... its... I don't know why its getting to me like this...

Its ok to let it get to you sometimes, remember? We are still people, we have feelings too.

-Elena said gently with a soft smile up at the man whom was so used to being everyone's rock. He didn't want to cry in front of Elena, so he held it in and just hoped she was right. Reeve finished setting everything up and closed the door, heading over to his seat only to make a face.-

Cait...

Ai!

That's my seat?

Oi ye be havin' a problem with that are ye? What ye gonna do about et huh?

-Reeve groaned and picked up the cat whom giggled and hugged to the man, clearly he had gotten just what he wanted, as reeve sat down cuddling the fuzzy bot in his lap. He then clicked a few buttons on his laptop, and the footage rolled. Reeve started the film at about 5 am, and ticked the playback to fast forward. Aside from several heartless wandering around nothing was unusual, then, around 8 am, Reno, Rude, and Tseng appeared. They went around the castle and began what they were instructed to do, fighting off heartless as they scoped the area. At 11 am, Roxas appeared towards the entrance, the camera did happen to catch a good shot of the road and revealed he just... came through one of those strange portals and appeared at the castle. Interesting, so they could just appear in a place if they happened to know of it. The camera then showed Roxas's interaction with the three turks, full audio was even accessible, amazing. Nothing was unusual and Reeve continued fasting forward the clock on the video. The video showed Rude going the long way back around the castle, catching glimpses of Reno and Roxas as they fought heartless, up till Roxas left and Reno went back to patrolling the city on the search for his partner. Rude however had decided to take a look inside the building, he went in the front door and up the stairs, fighting off a few mobs of heartless, he then stopped and looked up to a balcony to where the large double doors were that he and Reno had gone into looking for the girl. There she was, looking down at rude and calling to him, Reeve put the tape back to normal time, and let the tape play.-
