I look away from Nolan and his group and open my locker. Nolan became captain for the football team back in Sophomore year. Yeah ... He was that good. As for me, I lead my team to 1st place for an academic challenge bowl. Due to our winning, my name was being known to prestige colleges. I feel so close to my goal, my dream; getting into any prestigious colleges. Every since the incident, I push myself even more in my academics. My mom once told me, "In our life, darkness will consume us. Let your light shine as bright as the stars and navigate you out of that darkness."

Throughout my high school life, I joined various clubs, from Academic Club to National Honor Society. I joined the Debate Team last year and won 3rd place. Became president of the SBA and of NHS. You see, I don't have my friends anymore, so I dedicate my time to school, clubs, and my job. The only friend I have now is Claire Morgan, an over-excited girl who is actually pretty smart and nice.

"SCOTTIE!!!'

Speaking of the devil ...

Closing my locker, I turn around and saw her, running towards me, trying to get her other backpack strap on her arm. Laughing softly to myself, I walk towards her and gave her a hug.

"It's been so long, ClaireBear. How was your summer?"

"Ugh, I miss you, Scottie! Summer without you is soooo boring. My family took me to see my Grams. Let me tell you, my visit was so horrible. Didn't have service at my Grams house, there was no cute boys around, and I couldn't go shopping, because my dad cut off my card. Apparently, he found out that I was spending wayyyyy to much. But I can't help it. This dress was too expensive." Spinning around, making her dress flow. "But I look too hot, right?" Giggling, she asked.

"Sure ClaireBear." Grabbing her arm, we walk though the halls. She interlock her arm with mine.

"How was your summer, Scottie?"

"It was .. uhm ... okay, I guess. Didn't really do much, besides work."

"Wow. I can't believe I'm saying this, but ... your summer sounds way better than mine."

We both started laughing. Claire and I became friends a week after the locker incident in Freshmen year. She confronted me one time in the library when I was alone and crying. At first, I didn't talk to her. That day she confronted me, I walked out. I thought I wouldn't have to see her, but everyday, she will try to talk to me during lunch and some times when I'm at my locker. I would say I was annoyed by her. But once I gave in, she seems pretty alright. Then later, we would talk more and hang more. One thing led to another and we became friends.

"So who do you have for 1st?" Claire ask as she looks down at her schedule.

"I believe I have Parenting for 1st. You?"

She let out a loud gasp, which lead to a squeal. "Ohmygee! I have parenting too! Yay!"

The bell rings. "Let's head to class now, bestie. I want good seats." She says, as she walks a bit faster, pulling me along with her.

We walk in the class and only little people were seated. Claire went straight for the seat next to the window and rapidly tap the desk behind her while looking at me. Laughing, I went straight to that desk. Parenting class. Taught by Ms. Patricia. Heard stories about her class and of course, about her. Single, young, very pretty, and also chill.

More and more students started to fill the desk. Ms. Patricia went to the chalk board and start to write her lesson plans. She turns around, smiling as she scans the room. "Morning class and welcome to Parenting 101. If you don't know me, I"m Ms. Patricia. You can call me Ms. P or Ms. Trish, whichever you feel comfortable. Before we begin; class rules. I'm a pretty chill teacher, so I'm not hardcore on discipline, but that is subject to change if I see things go chaotic. But I believe you mostly are all seniors, so I want to see adults, not kids. Now, lets begin."
