Nolan P.O.V"You promise you'll come back?" Scott stands, smiling cheekily in front of my rolled down driver window. After the fireworks died down, Scott and I decided to head out, since we were all getting tired. The journey home was nothing but sweet silence between us and classy radio tunes. I take subtle glance at Scott as I drive, seeing that still lingering smile on his face. I'm glad to know that his smile comes from me; I cause that smile on his face. Seeing that smile makes me smile even more. Scott doesn't deserve to experience something like that every again. I know that Xavier is my best friend, but what he did tonight in front of Scott, is not okay with me. I don't care what he does or who he does it with, but not informing his, now, ex-boyfriend that you've moved on to a very close friend to him and to Scott is completely not okay.
"Well, I don't know anywhere to go. I'm hoping my boyfriend would let me stay and I guess I was right." A blush forms at the word 'boyfriend' as I let that out. I may not have asked him the question, but that kiss we shared tells me otherwise.
"Well, I'll be waiting." Seeing him lean towards me, I meet him halfway, pressing our lips against each other. Every time our lips touch, sparks shocks, flowing all around my body and I just want more of that. But sadly, we kept it short and simple. After watching him enter his house, I drive my two sleeping brothers home. Looking through the rearview mirror, Nathan sleeps with his head resting on the head rest and Neil lays his head on Nate's lap, soundly sleeping away. Several drives later, I reach the familiar sight of home. The lights are off at some parts of the house. The strange thing is that my dad's car is no longer on the driveway. Parking where his car should be, I turn off the car.
"Nate. Neil." Turning back, I reach out towards them, shaking gently on their legs. Nathan was the first to wake. I try waking up Neil but he's dead asleep, so I get out and so does Nathan. He opens the door for me as I reach in and carry Neil, placing his head in my shoulders as he automatically wraps his legs around me, still sleeping. I follow behind Nathan, walking inside the dark, quiet house. Heading up the stairs, I walk into Neil's room, placing him gently on the bed. I smile as I see him cuddling his blanket when I place him on his bed.
"Are you staying?" I hear Nathan behind me.
"No. I'm going back to Scott's." Placing a kiss on his forehead, I get up and walk towards the door where Nathan leans against, looking groggy from his sleep. "You should go to bed."
"But dad's not home. I didn't see his car."
"I'm sorry Nate .." Walking around him, I head down the stairs. As soon as I reach the bottom landing, the foyer lights turn on. I see my mom; a blanket wrapped around her, walking out of the living room. She throws me a worried look, but with anger in her eyes.
"Where have you been, Nolan?"
"I've been out. Where's dad?" I look expectantly at her. I notice the flash of hurt and anger in her eyes, but it was quickly covered up. She doesn't answer. Instead she just rubs her arms, walking back into the living room. "Mom?" I follow her in, worried tone in my voice. She sits on the leather sofa, wrapping the blanket around herself, not making any eye contact. I walk to sit next hers, sitting down as I still stare at her with concern.
"Your father left." She choke out the words, wiping a tear as she stares at the floor. "Your father .. Is .." A sob let's out if her as she clings onto the blanket. I immediately reach to her side, pulling her into an embrace. We just sit here; me comforting my mom as I hold onto her, and she sobs, crying on my shoulders.
