Monday morning, rain is falling... Literally. Although the song says Sunday, well, Sunday is no longer today. Gloomy skies, rain falls hard through the window of my bedroom. Rubbing my wet hair with the towel, I walk to my dresser, picking out clothes to wear for school. I take out a grey Hollister polo shirt, a pair of khaki woven shorts, and a pair of green Hanes boxer brief. Removing the towel off my waist after successfully drying my hair, I put on my clothes.
"Scottie." Knocking on my door, Mads opens the door, popping her head through.
"Yes Mads?"
"Riles is here. She's taking me to the diner before school starts."
Nodding my head, I grab my wallet from the dresser. "Okay. Do you need any money for breakfast?"
She shook her head. "No, that's okay. Riles is treating me. I'm gonna go." She, then, starts to close my door, but before heading out, she comes on again. "Oh, by the way, you don't have to pick me up from school. The girls and I are going to Riles' dance recital, so they're gonna drop me home."
"Okay. Be safe, and have fun." Waving back as she waves, closing my door and heading out. I walk into my bathroom, brush my teeth, and head out my room, grabbing my glasses on the way out. If you're wondering, yes, I do wear glasses. I don't normally use them anymore since middle school because I got contacts, but I've just ran out of them. So, glasses for now, I guess.
I head into the kitchen, grabbing the cereal off the counter. Once I got the bowl, spoon, and milk. I pour the cereal, then the milk in the bowl. As I eat my breakfast, my phone vibrates on the table. I grab phone, opening it up to see a text from Claire.
"S.O.S. COME TO SCHOOL NOW!"
What's with the pretty little liars reference? Claire and I enjoy that tv show, even though it annoys us when they won't tell us who A is. Ugh! Dumping my bowl into the sink, I head out, grabbing my jacket on the way. Harsh rain pours out of the sky, making it hard for me to get to my blue beat-up car. Putting up my hoodie, I ran to my car; I open the driver side door, getting in, then heading off to school.
Parking my car in the schools parking lot, I see students walking in, hanging near the door or near their cars. Strange looks everywhere as I get out of my car. It seems like everyone out here is staring at me. That's strange. Looks of disgust, horrified, empathy comes my way from the students as I walk through the hallway. I spot a crowd surrounding something at one of the lockers.
"SCOTT!" Claire yells, pushing her way though the crowd, horrifying feature etched on her face. Yelling my name causes the crowd to immediately look at me, giving me the same faces I've gotten outside. I got closer and closer to the crowd, now being apprehensive. The bunch starts disbanding, making way for me to see my, now, horrifying vandalized locker. Written on my locker, "GAY" in big black spray painted letters.
"Scott.." Claire tries to talk to me, as I stare at my locker in disbelief, blocking out my surrounding.
"What's going on here? Move out the way. Clear it, NOW! .......... Bloody hell.." Only one person I know who says something like that. Xavier. I feel his presence next to me.
"Scott, who did this?" He ask quietly, giving me a look of concern as I still stare at my locker. Suddenly, phones starts ringing, various of ringtones blares out around the hallway. Everyone starts taking out the phones, looking at what they receive.
"No... Way.." Claire says, staring at her iPhone. She, then, looks at me, mouth agape. I look over to her phone, and gasp at what I've just seen. In Claire's phone, it's a message from an unknown, with three pictures of me and Xavier kissing. Two from the party, I suppose, and one from the day after, when Xavier dropped Claire and I at my house.
