I play with the ends of my shirt, listening to the sound of the music, softly playing through the radio.

"Are you cold?"

"No." I look out the window, trying to avoid any conversation with him.

What is he doing? Why didn't he just leave me there?

"Beg your pardon?"

Did I say that out loud, rather than in my head?

Laughing, he slows down the car, stopping when the traffic light turns red. "Yes, you did."

I can feel him staring at me. Nervously, I look at him and found my suspicion was correct. "Why did you save me, Xavier? You could have just leave me there like you never saw me."

I watch and wait for him to answer. I can see him concentrating, trying to find an answer as he look at me. It's the way he furrow his brows and purse his lips. For some reason, I can't stop looking at his lips. He's even biting it. Wow, that's really hot!

"I don't know. I was around the area and as I got to my car, I saw a group of boys beating up this kid. When I saw it was you getting beaten up, I did what I have to do to get those guys away from you."

Scoffing, I look forward, folding my arms. "Yeah, by shooting a gun."

"Bloody hell! I just save your life and you're giving me attitude?"

"I don't need you, saving my life. You could have just got into your car and drive off, leaving me to be beaten to death."

He gapes at me. "Are you mad? You would rather be beaten to death?"

"Maybe, you would stop and think that I don't want to be save, that I actually want to be gone in this world." Lies! I mean, who doesn't want to be save from that, but why, out of all people, have to be him. Its only been one day and I encounter with him twice. Realization hits me. "Wait a second, why do you have a gun in the first place?"

I look at him, curiously. As soon as I look at him, the traffic light turns green and automatically, Xavier starts driving. "It's my dad's gun and this is his car. You know, I didn't get one 'thank you' for saving your life."

I laugh at his stupidity. "I believe it's not going through your head. Because one, I didn't want to be saved. Two, why would I thank you when all through last year, you and the band of dipshits bullied me. Actually, you know what? Stop the car."

"What?"

"Stop. The. Car. Now!" I scream.

He drives the car to the side. Didn't give him the chance to talk, I open the car door and walk out, groaning at the sudden pain in my stomach. He roll down the passengers window.

"Scott, come on. You are no condition of walking."

I ignore him as I continue walking.

"Really? Are you gonna ignore me?"

Ignoring ..

"You know, it's not safe out here. Rumors have it that vicious dogs lurks the streets at this hour, finding little boys like you, for dinner."

Just ignore him, Scott. Keep walking.

"Scottie."

I froze on my step. Did he .. Did he just sing my name? Shaking my head, I continue walking. My vision starts getting blurry and I can feel myself weaken with every step. My head spins and suddenly, I start falling to the ground. The last thing I heard before blacking out is Xavier sighing.
