"Hey, baby." I hear Xavier's voice behind me. It's Wednesday already, three days after the Halloween Bash, three days after hearing and visiting Maddie's coma-state body, three days that I haven't heard or seen from Xavier. On Sunday, I woke up beside a still sleeping Nolan with his arm still around me and our legs, now, entangled. Once he woke up, I decide to make breakfast for him as a thank you. After breakfast, I decide to visit Maddie again, seeing if any progress have been made. Nolan joins with me, even when I told him that he doesn't need to. He's been with me for the entire night; I didn't think he want to be around longer. We went to the hospital and visit Maddie. Doctor told me that no progress have been made and that they still don't know when she'll wake up. This time I don't cry as I hear the news, but the feeling of numbness comes back inside. During the entire time, Nolan hasn't said anything, just hold me by the shoulder as we listen to the doctor. After awhile, we decide to head out. We bumped into Dr. Smith on the way out. She asked me if I'm doing okay, which I give her only a shake of the head. She, later on, asked me if I heard from Xavier, which caused me and Nolan to be confused. Apparently, Xavier didn't go home at all that night and his step-mom was just a little worried. Nolan takes me home afterwards, telling me that he's going to check back at Marcus' place to see if Xavier is still there. When he left, I decide to go to Granny Adams house and tell her the news, which earns me a tearful and painful conversation with her as she sobs. Then, I decide to work, even though it was my day off, knowing that I don't want to be alone. Claire called during the day, asking if I was okay. She, then, asked to come over, which I take her offer. We talked; I cried a little and stayed for the rest of the night.
"Hi." Angrily slamming my locker, I walk away, avoiding his presence. I didn't get one call or text from him since Saturday. Nolan texted me; I gave him my number when he dropped me home after visiting my sister, saying that Xavier went home later in the morning.
"Why are you angry at me?" I hear him chasing after me, as I fast walk through the hallway. I didn't answer him, keeping my face forward and my mouth shut. "Scott.." Xavier grabs my arm, walking quickly in front of me, stopping me from walking further away.
"Jeez, I don't know. Maybe, it's because I haven't heard or seen you for like three days. I have to find out from Paul and Nolan that you weren't feeling good after Halloween and didn't feel like coming to school. You didn't even bother calling me or texting me back, informing me the information." I roughly shove past him, stomping my feet at this point as I angrily walk away. I hear him following me again, closely behind. "You know, I called you many times when you left me at the Halloween Bash, but you never picked up."
"I don't remember a lot that happened during that night.."
Yeah ... I think I know that ...
Scoffing, I shake my head. "Of course you don't.." Still walking angrily through. I brush past other students as they walk pass me. I know I shouldn't be putting my anger on these students when I brush pass them, bumping into their arms, which causes me a 'What the fuck?' glare, but my conscious is taking control at the moment; all it wants is to get away as soon as possible. As I still walk, not giving him any looks or response as he tells me to listen to him, he finally gives up on talking. Instead, he roughly grabs my arms and starts walking faster than me, dragging me behind him.
"What are you doing?" I ask, a little rough tone in my voice. The bell rings for class and yet, Xavier leads us in the other direction. "Class is that way." Pointing down to the other hall.
"We aren't going to class." We reach some vacant classroom. I stand in the middle of the room while Xavier locks the door.
"So .. What now?" I ask him as he, now, stands in front of me. I fold my arms, looking straight into his eyes.
