We stayed in New York for 3 more days, skipping the first two days of school of the week. Lots of exploring in the city and lots of alone times in the hotel room. The venues, the attraction we saw in New York was amazing. We got to go to the top of Empire State Building, which, of course, I took a picture of Nolan and I when we were up there. We got to see where the Twin Towers were before and took a look around the fountain and the names of all the people from 9/11. Me being me, I took a picture of us when we went there. Coney Island was a fun adventure; lots of amazing rides we went on. We, even, went back to Battery Park to get on a boat and sail towards Liberty Island to see the Statue of Liberty up close.
Sadly, today was the day we go back to Oregon. We woke up after a long last night fun in the hotel room, feeling tired and groggy. Nolan let me use the bathroom first, as he ordered room service. Once I got dressed into a flannel shirt and jeans, Nolan and I ate the breakfast he ordered. This time, we are in the balcony, out-looking towards the city. Taking a last photo shot, I forced Nolan to take a picture with us and the city below us as the background. After packing, Nolan and I headed down to the lobby for check out. I waited by the waiting van as Nolan talked to the concierge on checking us out.
"How was your New York adventure?" One of the doorman asked as I waited for Nolan.
"It's was amazing. Loved every single moment." Smiled at the man. Nolan walked out with both of our luggages, having a smile on his face as he walked towards me.
"Ready, baby?" He asked.
Sighing sadly, I nodded, hopping in the van. As we drove to the landing site, Nolan grasped my hand, bringing it up to his lips and kissed the back of it. "I promise we'll come back."
"Really?" I whispered, staring at our conjoined hands.
"Really, baby." Lifting my chin, he placed a small kiss on my lips. Once we reached the jet, we waited for the usual check-ups of the jet, making sure everything is good and ready. The jet, then, departed from New York, caused me to look out the window, sadly watching the view of the beautiful city of New York slowly disappear. During the plane ride, I decided to take a nap all the way back to Oregon, dreaming about the trip from New York and seeing a glimpse of what seems like an interesting dream about my older self in New York.
Nolan woke me up as we landed.
"Baby, wake up." Groggily, I woke up from my slumber, stretched my limbs and yawned at the same time. Looking out the window, I saw that it was the middle of the day; the sun was directly above us. After gathering our luggages, we went over to Nolan's truck and left the area, heading home. The car ride home was silent. It wasn't an uncomfortable silence. It was more relaxing, ease silence. I scrolled through my photos that we've took back in New York on my phone, all the way home. Nolan dropped me home, kissing me goodbye in front of my door. I asked him if he wanted to come in, but then he declined. I understand his reason, knowing that we just arrived from hours flight and he probably wanted to sleep or be alone.
The next day, I wake up and get ready for school. After Nolan dropped me yesterday, I unpacked and took a little rest. I woke up around 6 or 7 in the evening and went over to Nolan's to pick up Maddie. After taking a brisk shower and changing into the clothes I picked out for today, I head downstairs. The sound of laughter project from the kitchen, causing me to be curious.
"No way? Really?" I hear the familiar girly voice.
"Yeah. He was really something.." I scowl, knowing that familiar husky, manly voice. Is he talking about what we did? Walking in the kitchen, Nolan and Claire sits and laughs at my dining table. Maddie was washing her dish when she looks over at the entrance, smiling at me as she spots me.
