Spring break went by quickly. Since the day Nolan and I talked on my porch, we didn't nothing but be in each other's company. Then, Nolan had to leave to Pennsylvania to visit UPenn and work with the scout for college football. Sadly, he didn't attend to my mock trial competition. We had an earful argument before he left, arguing about him not going to Pennsylvania, just so he can attend and cheer me on after months of preparation. We both had something very important event for our futures, so I encourage him to go. Did I want him there and watch me succeed? Yes. So, as my mock trial started Xavier face-timed Nolan and he watched me via FaceTime. Unfortunately, I didn't win my case, which didn't lead me to that scholarship to Harvard, but as I was leaving the competition, a representative from the University of Cambridge bumped into me and talked to me about my performance and how he wants to talk to me more about their program and a potential scholarship to their law school.

Nolan came home the next day and was I glad to see him. We spend the day, talking about his little visit at Pennsylvania. What he did over there was to work with other players from different states and with UPenn's football players. He enjoyed himself, playing football again, working with the other guys. What was interesting was that his step-brother was one of the other scouted players and one day, they had to scrimmage one another. Let's just say that Nolan enjoyed being in the other team, apart from him. The coach admired his dedication and his teamwork skills and offered him the scholarship for next year, which then earned him a congratulatory kiss from me once he walked out the arrival at the airport.

Nolan and I has been going strong .. Or actually stronger than before. I let everything settled in after that day. I get that Nolan is a father now, and that the mother of his child happens to be the girl I dislike, but I can't change that. I know Nolan loves me and just having him with me, makes me sort of forget about everything, which is what I really want. School is back on session and honestly, as we only have 2 more months of high school, I wish I can slow the clocks' tick.
Where has the time gone, huh?

Waking up, I hear my door slam open.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG BROTHER!" Maddie burst through the door, running up to my bed and start jumping on it, screaming aloud. "It's your birthday! It's your birthday!"

Today is the day I turn 18, I turn into a legal adult. Today is my birthday.

Maddie still bounce on my bed, singing out "it's your birthday." As she looks away, I quickly sit up on my bed, reaching her waist, and immediately tickle her. She jerks and twist while laughing uncontrollably. "Scott, stop." Her contagious laugh causes me to laugh with her as I tickle her sides.

"Okay, go get ready lil monster." I stop tickling her and immediately, she runs out my door. Shaking my head while chuckling, I remove my blanket off from me, getting off the bed as I do so. Maddie comes back into my room, walking up to me and giving me a hug.

"Happy birthday." Bending my upper body down, I kiss the top of her head, hugging her tightly.

"Thank you Mads." Then, we went to go do our morning routine before school.

As I walk downstairs to prepare breakfast, Claire startled me as she sits at my kitchen table, facing directly at me, smiling brightly at me. "Happy Birthday best friend." Like lightning, she gets off her chair, running at me to give me a death hug. "You're an adult now."

"Thank you best friend."

She lets go, but still holds on to me. "Okay, to start off your birthday, we are going to the diner for breakfast. Let's go." Claire walks out of the kitchen, heading out the front door. I call for Maddie and she, then, walks down, ready for school.
