I can hear a woman's voice calling me back from the darkness while I slowly regain consciousness. When my eyes finally open, I can see the Queen Mother sitting at my bedside.

Once again I find myself in the healing room.

Frigga: "Anya, how do you feel?"

Me: "What happened?"

Frigga: "You fainted my dear, but do not worry. The healers assure me that you will be just fine".

Me: "Are Sara and Ruth alright? I must have given them quite a fright".

Frigga: "They stayed by your bedside for many hours. I instructed them to go and get some rest".

Me: "How long was I unconscious?"

I can see that it is now light outside, meaning that I have been here for some time.

Frigga: "Half the day".

Me: "The King must be quite displeased. It is only my third day as his personal servant and I have already missed half a day of work".

Frigga: "You leave my son to me, dear. Your only duty is to focus on resting for now" she smiles sweetly as she gets up to leave.

Outside the healing room, Loki is pacing back and forth anxiously as he awaits news of Anya. He sees his mother exiting the room and approaching him.

Loki: "How is she?"

She replies to his question by slapping him across his face. He stands there clutching his cheek in utter shock and disbelief.

Frigga: "You foolish boy! Do you have any idea what you could have done, what you almost did?"

Loki: "Mother, it was never my intention to cause her any harm" he replies calmly.

As they walk side by side back towards the throne room he remains quiet, not wishing to anger her any further.

Frigga: "I take it that she was the fair maiden who has every Asgardian brimming with excitement and intrigue?"

Loki: "I am truly sorry, mother. I thought I was granting her a kindness by making her feel less uncomfortable outside, without fear of judgement even if it was only temporary".

Frigga: "So you thought you could meddle with potions so carelessly without proper knowledge or understanding? You did not even take into account the fact that she is clearly not a full sized frost giant when you measured it, did you?"

Loki: "It was a simple mistake".

Frigga: "One that could have taken her life and for what!?"

Loki: "I did not know, mother".

Frigga: "I may have taught you magic my son, but I never gave you the knowledge of potions and healing. Your actions were reckless".

Loki: "Will she be alright?"

Frigga: "Fortunately she was brought to the healing room in time. You should never grant anyone a potion whatsoever without a full understanding of their physiology first".

Loki: "Then I shall do so in future".

Frigga: "You most certainly will not! If you ever require a potion such as that again you will request it from me and only me, is that understood?"

Loki: "Yes, mother".

Frigga: "The transformation back to her true form must have been excruciatingly painful. Especially when the strength and volume of the potion you gave to her was enough for a full sized frost giant".

Loki: "It was truly awful".

Frigga: "The reason she nearly perished was due to the drastic cooling down of her body which caused her heart to cease beating".

Loki: "I know you are attempting to make me feel more guilty, but that is not possible. I would have never have forgiven myself if she had perished by my hand".

Frigga: "You are awfully fond of her, aren't you my son?"

Loki: "It is refreshing to have someone in my presence that I can engage in intelligent conversation with. Someone that does not want anything from me in return, but the pleasure of my company. Other than you of course, mother".

Frigga: "She is a sweet girl".

Loki: "That is true. She will not even accept an honest wage for all her good work".

Frigga: "However, you must not allow your fondness for her to distract you from your duties, Loki. You are the Allfather to the nine realms now and your brother will be visiting us shortly. That's not to mention Princess Dahlia's arrival next week".

Loki: "Of course, mother".
