The following morning, Ruth and Sara go ahead with their revenge on Princess Dahlia's cruel servants successfully. All four of them become quite ill after eating breakfast, much to all of the other Asgardian servants amusement.Word of this incident had somehow already reached the King before I arrived at his chambers.
Loki: "How are the servants?"
Me: "Quite ill I am afraid" I bite my top lip to suppress my smile.
Loki: "I suppose it will just have to be ourselves and the princess touring the kingdom today".
Me: "Such a pity, my King".
As we walk through the kingdom after lunch, the people seem to be admiring the beauty and grace of the King's latest princess.
I am rather grateful for this as no one is looking at me following not too far behind them.
I realise that the King is somewhat less at ease than he was the last time he was here as he keeps his hands behind his back, locking them together rather than taking her arm.
Loki: "So what does a princess such as yourself do with her spare time?"
Dahlia: "I do a lot of shopping across the nine realms. I love surrounding myself with expensive things".
Loki: "Any other interests? Reading perhaps?"
Dahlia: "A princess needn't waste her time reading books. If I need to know something then I simply have the servants find it out for me".
He turns his head to me as I walk behind him and raises his hand to his mouth, gesturing a yawn while I try my hardest not to laugh.
Throughout the rest of the day, she never once asks the King a single question about himself or any of his interests. However, she seems to quite enjoy talking endlessly about herself.
She would not even attempt to sample a single dessert as she believed it may ruin her perfect figure. Vanity seems to be her downfall.

Upon returning to the palace, he bids her goodnight before retiring to his chambers for the evening. He seems truly grateful that this day is drawing to a close.
Loki: "It has been a pleasure princess and I am terribly sorry about your servants mysterious illness" he smiles as he kisses the back of her hand.
Dahlia: "You are too kind, Allfather. I now know the reason why my father has always spoken so fondly of you".
It is at that precise moment I witness the look she gives him. Behind her outward beauty and charm, I can see a cold, calculating glimmer in her eyes.
She was not here to find love, she was here for political gain and her only interest in the King was for power, just as he had previously spoken of.
After they part ways, I walk with him across the palace.
Loki: "She certainly plays the part well, does she not?"
Me: "She most certainly does, my King".
Loki: "Even her father speaks fondly of me" he laughs.
This King is no fool. As the famed God of Mischief, I am certain that he can sense such deceptions from a mile away.
