The following day, the entire palace nervously awaits Helbindi's arrival. Even so, I cannot cease my thoughts from wandering towards the kiss I had shared the previous evening with the King, however brief it had been.

I shudder with disgust when I am informed that a private room had been prepared in the event that I may succumb to Helbindi and desire to mate with him today.

I cannot imagine finding that horrid monster appealing, but from what I have read of it, the urge to mate if he were to make his claim on me will be so strong that I will let him have me willingly.

Both Ruth and Sara look on nervously as I wait beside the King who is sitting on his throne when one of the guards enters first.

Guard: "My King. Prince Helbindi Laufeyson of Jotunheim".

He strides in with an arrogant confidence with my father following closely behind him, but I keep my eyes down in fear of looking in his direction.

Helbindi: "Allfather. I must say that the beings of this realm are far smaller than I had imagined, almost as small as that little runt over there".

Loki: "Helbindi, if you are a guest of Asgard then you shall treat all of my subjects with respect. That includes Anya".

Helbindi: "I am not a willing guest here, Allfather. I have simply come out of curiosity because that half breed runt over there is Jotun by blood".

Loki: "Anya, are you ready?" he looks to me.

Me: "I am, my King".

I walk down the golden steps towards Helbindi who is glaring at me with that same menacing intent in his eyes that he always had towards me.

Helbindi: "You look quite well, runt. Perhaps they are feeding you too much here?" he says coldly.

Me: "Let us both be done with this, shall we?"

Helbindi and I are shown to the private room nearby and I glance back at the King, whose eyes are filled with despair as are all of the Asgardians in the throne room.

After the doors are closed behind us, we are truly alone and Helbindi circles me in an attempt to instil fear as he had always done before.

Helbindi: "You do not look half as repulsive as I remember, runt. Have you missed me terribly?"

Me: "Hardly. I believe your father would have been proud to witness you ascending to the throne if it were not for your sadistic nature".

Helbindi: "My father was hardly a worthy ruler. You were always his little favourite, yet he only took pity on you after Lord Surt killed your whore of a mother".

Me: "You know nothing of my mother".

Helbindi: "It is you who knows nothing of her, whereas I knew all of my father's deepest, darkest secrets".

Me: "He was kind-hearted. Something you clearly know very little of".

Helbindi: "Is that so?"

Me: "Yes".

Helbindi: "Were you aware that the reason he was always so kind to you was due to the fact that he abandoned his own runt? His first born son in fact".

Me: "You lie!"

Helbindi: "He abandoned that abomination in the temple and left it to perish".

Helbindi may have been many unpleasant things, but a liar was not one of them. How could King Laufey commit such a horrendous act?

Helbindi: "How can you stand there and claim to have cared for my father when you serve the one that killed him so obediently? Even you could have mustered up enough backbone to have murdered the Allfather in his sleep".
