After confessing to the King and Queen Mother that I had confided the truth in Ruth and Sara's of my 'princess' facade, and assuring them that they would never utter a word of this secret to anyone, they were both put to work perpetuating the story of that nights tragic events.

If the gossip and rumours now spread throughout the nine realms were to be believed, then Helbindi had indeed returned to Asgard in order to steal away the King's Jotun servant.

He had found her walking through the palace alone and had attempted to take her against her will.

She had ran for her life as fast as she could, but it was not quite fast enough as the monstrous frost giant soon threw her against a wall in a fit of rage, which caused her terrible injuries.

The brave King Loki of Asgard arrived just in time to slay the foul beast by plunging a dagger deep into his frozen heart, killing Helbindi instantly.

Much to the King's distress, his Jotun servants injuries were far more severe than originally believed and she sadly perished later that same night.

The valiant King was so burdened with guilt and grief that he was not currently receiving any visitors.

In reality, I was still very much alive and the King and I had been recovering in his chambers alone together for the past week.

If I were to be completely honest with myself, I was both nervous and excited about the fact that I would no longer look like this in just a few short days.

I wanted so desperately to tell the King of my plans, but his mother was correct and I strongly suspect that he would attempt to convince me not to go through with it.

Over the past week, the Queen Mother had been coaching me on what to say to the other guests at the ball if they should ask me questions about myself.

She claims that nobles, being as polite as they are, do not ask too many questions about realms of which they are unfamiliar, but will always lie and tell you that they have heard of it as to not appear ignorant.

Me: "Good morning" I yawn.

Loki: "You know, I never thought I would tire of seeing the inside of my own chambers".

Me: "At least you will be able to go outside soon, once you have ceased being saddened by my death of course" I laugh.

Loki: "That is not amusing, my dear".

Me: "You are aware that I am still alive?"

Loki: "I do not like to think about what could have happened. I swore to protect you and I failed".

Me: "You did not fail me, you are the one who inspired me to be stronger".

Loki: "Well when you put it that way, I sound quite like a muse".

Me: "That you are. Would my muse care for breakfast?"

Loki: "Yes, my dear" he smiles gratefully.

Out of all the palace servants, Sara and Ruth are now the only ones permitted to enter the King's chambers since my 'death', so they have been receiving a more than generous wage for their loyalty and discretion.

Once I am wearing my enchanted necklace, we go and practice the dances I have been learning in a private wooded area that is not too far outside the palace walls.

Ruth: "So you are truly going to be living entirely as a princess from now on?"

Sara: "I told you it was like a fairytale".

Me: "It is a ruse, but it is necessary for the kingdoms protection and my own now that my father believes I have perished".

Ruth: "And what of you and the King?"

Me: "We are in love" I smile.

Ruth: "I am so happy for you, my dear".

Sara: "I still cannot believe that you cut down a frost giant".

Me: "My one, final brave act as one".

Ruth: "What are you saying?"

Me: "I am saying that Anya will soon be no more and I will be this way forever".

Ruth: "I must say, it was a true pleasure to have known Anya but I am certain that Princess Valanya will be wonderful".

Sara: "You will make such a kind and generous princess".

Me: "And you two will always remain my dearest of friends".
