He removes one of his hands from my wrists while maintaining his hold on them with the other. His free hand reaches down and takes the back of my knee to raise my leg, wrapping it around his waist while roughly pressing himself against me.

Naris: "Does the Allfather touch you this way?"

Me: "Please, stop" I whimper, now unable to stop the tears falling from my eyes.

Naris: "You even beg like her" he tells me, much to my disgust.

Me: "Let me go".

Naris: "I have spent the past four dreaming of this very moment. I have obsessed tirelessly to discover everything I possibly could about you. Do you know what I found?"

Me: "What?"

Naris: "Absolutely nothing. There is no Beddleheim, no Princess Valanya and no one that knows of you in any realm. It were as though you simply came into being one day".

Me: "What do you want from me?"

Naris: "Return to Svartalfheim with me as my intended, or I will reveal the truth to every noble in the nine realms".

Me: "What makes you think they will believe a word you say?"

Naris: "They may not. However, the Princess Milea that you are so clearly fond of will not fair as kindly when they discover what she does in the privacy of her own chambers with other young women".

Me: "Leave her out of your sick games, Naris!"

Naris: "You will learn to enjoy my games, Valanya".

He forces a kiss upon me, but I resist, even when his kisses travel lower down until he reaches my chest. His hands finally release mine when he begins pulling at my dress.

King Naris is undoubtedly far larger and stronger than I am. I feel ashamed by my own weakness when I am frozen with fear, just as I had been before at the mere sight of Helbindi.

Me: "Is this what you did to my mother?" I ask quietly.

Naris: "What?"

Me: "You forced her".

Naris: "I have done so to many whores in my lifetime, I am certain that your mother was nothing special" he laughs as he unbuckles his belt.

Me: "I believe you will remember her name. Princess Azalea of Alfheim?"

He removes his hands from my body entirely and backs away before he looks deep into my eyes in a moment of recognition.

Without another word, he grabs me by the throat and forces me back inside my chambers where he then throws me down onto the bed.

Naris: "You were supposed to be dead" he tells me and grips my throat once more, but not enough to halt my breathing.

Me: "You knew of me?"

Naris: "I did. Clearly my spell did not work as intended. I was informed that you had died in the womb".

Me: "What spell? Who told you I was dead?"

Naris: "King Laufey. He must have known that I would have ended your life if I discovered you had somehow lived".

Me: "Answer me this, how did my mother find herself on Jotunheim?"

Naris: "Is that what all of this is about, this pathetic attempt at seduction?"

Me: "I want to know the truth".

Naris: "The truth is that I altered her map to the Bifrost portals. That whore and her peasant lover thought they were fleeing to Midgard, but I made sure that they ended up somewhere much more fitting" he laughs menacingly.

Me: "Let go of me, you monster!"

Naris: "I am not the monster here"

Me: "Your family murdered mine!"

Naris: "She betrayed me!"

Me: "Good! You truly believe yourself above all others? You cannot even bed a woman without the use of force".

Naris: "You will find out about my force soon enough, Valanya, but first we need to leave this realm while it is still dark. Otherwise I will simply have to kill you right here".

Me: "You may as well end my life now and save yourself the burden of dragging me behind you".

Naris: "I have other plans for us my dear".

He conjures a rope using magic that he ties around my wrists before he leads me away from my chambers under the cover of darkness.

We exit the palace unseen and walk towards the mountains. After we reach them, we proceed to climb higher and higher until it becomes more difficult to breath.

Me: "You are a fool" I laugh breathlessly.

Naris: "And you talk too much, just as your whore of a mother always did".

Me: "You do realise that the King will soon notice both of our absences and find it a tad coincidental?"

Naris: "By then it will be too late".

Me: "I hate to inform you, but I will not be moving another inch so kill me now and be done with it".

Naris comes towards me angrily and I quickly flee from him. I struggle to run with both of my hands tied together so I soon lose my balance and fall against the hard rocks.

My bare feet are already blistered and bloodied from walking for so long, which is causing me a great deal of pain when I attempt to get back up from the ground.

His hand swiftly grabs my hair, yanking me towards him and then back in the direction I had ran from.

I can feel his anger fuelled hatred when he throws me back to the ground nearby and climbs on top of me before forcefully tearing away my undergarments.

Naris: "You will have your wish, you little bitch. I will put an end to your meaningless existence, but not before I make you suffer. I'll take great pleasure in leaving your broken body here for your precious King Loki to find".

Agnarr: "Get away from her!"

King Agnarr? What was he doing here?

Naris: "Old friend?" he asks while rising to his feet.

Agnarr: "You are no friend of mine. You ruined my life and then you murdered my sister!"

Naris: "How exactly did I ruin you life? My family gave yours a throne, you ungrateful wretch".

Agnarr: "Azalea told me everything. She told me what you did to her".

Naris: "She was mine Agnarr, and I always get what is mine" he laughs.

Agnarr: "She did not love you!"

Naris: "Let me guess? You loved her too?"

Agnarr: "Shut up! After she died our father's did something unforgivable, and your cruel actions set all of those unspeakable events in motion. I came here to right that terrible wrong".

Me: "She was not dead" I utter.

Agnarr: "What are you saying?"

Me: "Princess Azalea was held captive on Jotunheim for many years after she fled from Alfheim. She was my mother".

Naris: "Believe me, little girl, that is only part of the story".
