As we reach the the foot of the mountains, I become apprehensive about my impending departure once I look back towards the golden palace I had called home.I find myself thinking about how long it would be before the King noticed my absence or if he would even care at all anymore. His unpleasant words would suggest the latter.
Ruth: "We are getting close" she tells me.
Me: "Where does the portal lead to?"
Sara: "I overheard one of the guards say that this one leads to Midgard".
Me: "The mortal realm?"
Ruth: "It should be relatively easy for you to blend in there".
Me: "I trust your judgement" I laugh nervously.
Sara: "That's it!" she declares while running up towards a large fracture in between two large boulders.
Me: "What do I do now?"
Ruth: "Simply walk through it and it will lead you to a new world" she smiles with a hint of sadness.
Sara: "Is it selfish of me to hope you will reconsider this decision?"
Me: "I wish you could come with me. It will break my heart to leave you both behind. I love you dearly, my friends".
All three of us embrace before I turn away. I walk towards the darkness of the fracture, slowly entering and taking a few tentative steps further inside.
It is so dark that I cannot see my hand in front of my face. I soon feel an all consuming force pulling me forwards as a bright light surrounds my body which causes me to close my eyes.

The following day, Loki sits alone in the throne room looking over to the very place where he had last seen Valanya in that room.
Thinking of the tears that had flowed freely from her eyes filled him with such guilt and regret, but he knew he was still too angry to apologise.
Guard: "My King, you told me to bring word of the princess if I were to see her".
Loki: "What of her?"
Guard: "That is the issue, my King. She has not left her chambers or taken in any of the food left by the servants all day. I have knocked and there was no response".
Loki marches to her chambers himself and walks in, discovering that the door was unlocked, but cannot see her inside. He then enters the bathroom believing she must be bathing, but yet again he finds nothing.
In a concerned state, he heads to the stables and mounts his horse, riding as fast as he can to the Bifrost where Heimdall is currently stationed.
Heimdall: "It is good to see you, my King".
Loki: "I am afraid there is no time for pleasantries, Heimdall. I need you to locate the princess immediately".
Heimdall: "All of the noble guests departed yesterday, my King. Of which princess do you speak?"
Loki: "The Princess Valanya, the one who is my guest here on Asgard".
Heimdall: "I see" he replies knowingly.
Heimdall focuses for a moment while searching for Valanya, but is unable to find her current location.
Heimdall: "I apologise, my King, but she no longer resides anywhere in this realm".
Loki: "What are you saying? She has to be here".
Heimdall: "It would appear that she may have fled through one of your many cloaked Bifrost portals, my King".
Loki: "She...she would not do that. She would not leave me!" he yells and walks away in disbelief.
Soon returning to the palace, he demands the presence of Ruth and Sara as they are quickly brought to the throne room and kneel in submission before him.
Loki: "Guards, leave us!"
As soon as the guards exit the room, he drops down to his knees unexpectedly in front of them with tears in his eyes.
Loki: "Please, tell me where she is? I beg of you" he pleads.
Sara: "You broke her heart, my King. Why should we help you?"
Ruth: "She gave you her love and you threw that love aside the first time she ever did something for herself. She saved your life from Helbindi and that was the gratitude you gave to her?"
Loki: "I am sorry for what I have done, but how will I ever be able to recompense for my actions if I am to never see her again?"
Ruth and Sara look at one another for a moment, uncertain of the best thing to do before sighing in defeat.
Ruth: "Midgard".
Sara: "However, we do not know where exactly where on Midgard".
Loki: "I will forever be indebted to you both".
