After visiting the Queen Mother again in the morning, I walk through the kingdom accompanied by Ruth and Sara simply discussing the past four years and my life on Midgard.

Thankfully they had not been punished for aiding me in my escape from the kingdom and supplying me with the gold that I had later sold on Earth.

Me: "You should both come back home with me when I leave. There is plenty of room for you in my apartment".

Sara: "I would not know what to do with myself if I were no longer a servant" she sighs.

Ruth: "Do you truly think of that world as your home now?"

Me: "Home is where the heart is. At least that is what they say on Earth".

Sara: "And is that where your heart is?"

I hesitate for a moment, contemplating the answer to that question. Was my heart truly there or had it always remained here?

Me: "I do not know".

Ruth: "You could always stay?"

Me: "And do what? How would the palace explain a 'princess' permanently living here on Asgard while the King goes on to wed another?"

Sara: "I had not really thought of that" she giggles.

Ruth: "Perhaps you and the King may one day reconcile?"

Me: "I do not believe so. I spoke with him last night in the library and he could have said something then, but he chose not to".

Sara: "So what did he say?"

Me: "He apologised for what he said to me and expressed that he wished he had done it much sooner".

We go to lunch together in a small cafe and something behind me seemingly captures Ruth and Sara's attention. I notice them looking past me while whispering to one another.

Me: "Something interesting?"

Ruth: "Sorry about that. Princess Milea has just been seated" she whispers.

I turn around in my seat to find her sat at a table not too far behind me drinking tea, but she is completely alone.

The princess is far more beautiful than I had imagined, pale skin, blue eyes, light brown hair. She is entirely innocent looking and without imperfection.

Me: "She seems sad?" I notice.

Sara: "She does not come from wealth, but her family is very well respected. As you can already see, she has no servants here to accompany her as her family cannot afford them".

Ruth: "I suppose she is not used to being in a realm such as this one with all its splendours".

Me: "I understand how she feels. You two should head back to the palace without me. There is something I must do" I smile.

Sara: "Are you certain?"

Me: "Quite certain".

Before I have the chance to think about my actions, I find myself getting up from the table and walking over to the princess.

I catch her eye, forcing her to smile politely towards me.

Me: "Hello. I apologise for the intrusion, but I noticed you were sitting here alone and decided to come over and introduce myself. My name is Valanya".

Milea: "My name is Milea" she smiles nervously.

Me: "May I join you?"

Milea: "You needn't show me pity. I am quite alright alone".

Me: "It is not pity I wish to show you, princess. I would simply appreciate the pleasure of your company" I say honestly as I sit down.

Milea: "I know who you are" her polite smile fades back into a look of sadness.

Me: "You do?"

Milea: "The King informed me of your arrival to visit the Queen Mother. He has always spoken so highly of you"

Me: "He speaks rather highly of you also. I hear you like to read?"

Milea: "I love to read, especially about Midgard. I find the mortals rather fascinating" she laughs.

Me: "That is where I live now. If you would like I can tell you everything I know?"

Milea: "Truly? Tell me everything!"

Ruth and Sara return to the palace to tend to their duties while myself and the princess continue to talk throughout the entire afternoon.

I almost hate the fact that I enjoy her company so much and I actually find myself growing rather fond of her.

We walk back to the palace together and are both surprised when we soon come face to face with the King himself.

Loki: "I see you two have become acquainted?"

Milea: "Allfather, you never mentioned how wonderful Princess Valanya is" she smiles, still holding my hand.

Me: "Oh, so the King has indeed mentioned me has he?" I jest at his expense.

Loki: "I knew you two meeting would cause nothing but trouble for me" he sighs while rolling his eyes.

Milea: "Perhaps we should wed each other princess? We do have so much in common after all?"

Me: "What a splendid idea princess. Let's go!" I exclaim as we giddily skip away together.

Milea: "To the library!"

It was nice to see the princess in such high spirits after our initial meeting when she had seemed so lonely.

The King almost appears amused by our childish playfulness when I turn back to see him still standing where we left him.
