Myself and the princess have spent evening reading together in the library since shortly after dinner, and I must say I am in awe of her rather inquisitive nature.

It does not surprise me in the least that the King is so fond of her and has continued their courtship, as she oddly reminds me of myself in a way.

Milea: "I suppose it is getting late" she sighs while we return the books to their original places.

Me: "I had a lot of fun today".

Milea: "As did I. May I confess something to you, Valanya?"

Me: "Anything".

Milea: "I was actually quite nervous when the King informed me that you were to return to Asgard".

Me: "Why would you be nervous?"

Milea: "The way he speaks of you. I had also heard rumour of your beauty and I feared that I could not possibly compare".

Me: "Society has us spending far too much of our time comparing ourselves to other women without allowing others to make us feel we must do so as well".

Milea: "You do not speak like any princess I have ever met before" she laughs.

Me: "So I have been told many times".

Milea: "I can see why the King is still in love with you".

I attempt to give no response to what she had said to me as it had caught me by surprise, so I choose to ignore it while I place the final book back in a shelf.

Me: "I will walk you back to your chambers".

I bid her goodnight and return to my own chambers, resting on the bed and wondering what tomorrow will bring.

I am confused shortly afterwards when I hear a faint knock on the door and surprisingly find the princess standing there.

Milea: "May I speak with you?" she asks the moment I open the door to her.

Me: "Yes, of course" I welcome her inside.

Milea: "I need to do this now before I come to my senses".

Me: "Do what exactly?"

She grabs me unexpectedly, crashing her lips into my own and I am too astonished to even pull away. I would only be lying to myself if I said the kiss was not only incredibly passionate, but also quite enjoyable.

After a few moments more, she backs away and waits for me to say something, but I am in utter shock and cannot find the words to express myself.

Milea: "Sorry. I felt that I had to do that" she tells me breathlessly.

Me: "I do not know what to say".

Milea: "Obviously I owe you some explanation".

Me: "Yes, that would be a good way to start".

Milea: "It may be unconventional and viewed as sinful by many, but I am a princess that prefers the company of other women" she confesses to me.

Me: "You have lustful desires towards me?"

Milea: "I felt that we had this incredible connection today. I believed you may have felt the same and that I could be my true self with you?"

Me: "You can always be yourself with me, but I am afraid that I do not share those same desires".

Milea: "I should not have behaved so impulsively. It was foolish of me" she suddenly seems embarrassed by her actions.

Me: "I understand why you did, but if I may ask, why are you here courting the King if you do not truly desire men?"

Milea: "My father forced me to come here. He claims that my sinful thoughts will fade in time if I had the love of a good man like the Allfather".

Me: "Your father was wrong to do that to you and you have nothing to be ashamed of".

Milea: "I confessed my true feelings about being here to the Allfather and he agreed to let me stay here so my father would believe we were truly courting".

Me: "That was kind of him. When it comes to love the wisest advice I was ever given was that the only real sin would be to deny what your heart truly feels".

Milea: "What is it that your heart feels?"

Me: "May I confess something to you now?" I ask to change the subject.

Milea: "You have sat and listened to my deepest secret without judgement so feel free to unburden yourself" she laughs.

Me: "I am not a real princess, I never was".

Milea: "Is that true?"

Me: "I was nothing more than a mere servant when I first met the King".

Milea: "That is incredible!"

Me: "But not without its challenges" I sigh.

Milea: "I meant what I said to you before, he is still in love with you".

Me: "You cannot know that".

Milea: "The only time I have ever seen the King smile during my time here is when he speaks of you. What made me the most nervous about your return is the possibility that he would send me home".

Me: "He would never do that".

Milea: "Today I finally saw for myself what made him fall so deeply in love with you and I suppose I wanted that too".

Me: "Someone as beautiful and kind as you will surely find the love you deserve princess and to Hel with what others think".

Milea: "I should return to my chambers. Thank you for being a friend, Valanya" she smiles.

Me: "You are most welcome".
