Prince Thor and the King speak privately while myself, Princess Milea and Jane go to get ourselves another drink. It is soon apparent that King Naris's gaze is upon me as we walk across the ballroom.

Milea: "They must be preparing for the announcement".

Jane: "I'm kinda nervous. I mean, I'm a mortal so isn't this frowned upon or something?"

Me: "I do not believe so? There may be words said in private, but your child will be born a demigod so pay them no mind".

Milea: "As long as you both love your child then nothing else matters".

Jane: "Thanks ladies" she smiles gratefully.

Prince Thor and the King soon head to the end of the ballroom, where the musicians had been playing on a small stage.

Thor then clears his throat loudly to get all of the guests attention focused on him.

Thor: "If you may lend your ears for a moment?" he speaks.

The entire crowd turns in his direction while Jane looks on in fear, not knowing what the nobles here will say in relation to the new life currently growing inside of her womb.

Thor: "I am certain that many of you have been wondering what you have all been brought here to celebrate this night, and so soon after my mother's passing. There were those of you, including my own father that did not take kindly to the idea of me marrying a mortal woman and abdicating the throne. Over time I am glad to see that has changed. It is with hearts full of love and devotion for one another, that I am proud to announce that my wife Jane and I are expecting a child of our very own".

The guests cheer and Jane seems to breathe a sigh of relief when they begin congratulating herself and Thor once he returns to her side.

The King comes back when I take a moment to sit down and rest my aching feet, leaving Princess Milea speaking to her father nearby.

Loki: "We may need an alternative plan. The evening will soon draw to a close and Naris will return to Svartalfheim" he whispers.

Me: "Is there any way you could convince him to stay longer?" I ask.

Loki: "I suppose that could work? Asgard does trade with that realm. We may have to negotiate terms suddenly" he smiles.

Some of the guest begin to leave as the hour grows late, and I discreetly keep watch nearby while King is deep in conversation with King Naris.

They soon shake hands and part ways. The King gives me a reassuring smile, suggesting that he has successfully convinced him to stay on Asgard.
