Once I am finally permitted to leave the healing room, I pace the floor of the King's chambers while anxiously awaiting news of his return from Svartalfheim.

King Agnarr however, was to remain in the healing room under guard until further notice, but I was pleased to receive word that his wound had not been fatal.

A thousand thoughts and questions were rushing through my mind at this time.

What would I say to my mother if she were still alive? Who is real my father? Why would Naris return for her?

Had he simply taken her away from Jotunheim with the sole purpose of killing her, meaning that the King's current efforts to find her would ultimately become fruitless?

The King enters his chambers and gives me a look that causes me to nervously hold my breath.

Loki: "We have her" he smiles.

I burst into tears of joy and disbelief all at once, so overwhelmed with all that had happened recently. I fear that I may wake up to find that this had all been a dream.

Me: "Where is she?"

Loki: "She has been taken directly to my mother's chambers and is being tended to by the healers".

Me: "Is she injured?"

Loki: "She was severely malnourished and dehydrated. When we found her she also had wounds to her ankles from being restrained for so long".

Me: "May I go and visit her?"

Loki: "She needs time to heal, but do not worry yourself, my love. She knows you are safe here and wishes to see you as soon as her strength has returned".

Me: "Thank you, Loki" I tell him as I wrap my arms around him.

I notice him inspecting the many bruises and cuts along my body once more, and his eyes appear darkened with rage at the sight of them.

Loki: "He had Princess Dahlia locked up in one of the cells near your mother's. There were dozens of women we had to set free from the dungeons after we arrived".

Me: "He had his own daughter caged as though she were an animal?"

Loki: "It would appear that she had been kept down there for many months".

Me: "That poor girl must have been terrified".

Loki: "I must admit, there was a moment after I spoke with Surt when I feared that King Naris may have been your father".

Me: "As did I, but now my mother will be able to answer that questions for me".

Loki: "All in good time, my love".

His fingers trace the bruised skin of my neck before he kisses it delicately.

Loki: "If he were not already dead, I would have killed him slowly for this".

Me: "I feared I would never see you again".

My hands reach down between us and begin to unbuckle him, but he pushes my hands away. I understand why he feels he must.

Loki: "We should not be doing such things after what happened. You need time".

Me: "What I need is you, Loki".

Loki: "You are still injured".

Me: "Your kisses make it feel better" I smile and sit down on the bed before opening my robe.

He removes his shirt and encourages me to lay back, taking his time to discover and tenderly kiss every mark that now lay upon my skin.

When his lips find mine once more, I savour ever moment, never wishing for it to end.

Me: "I love you so much".

Loki: "I love you more".

Me: "Show me".

Without having to be asked twice, he removes the rest of his clothes. My body desperately craves him as he uses his tongue to satisfy my ever growing lust.

Any thoughts and pain from the previous nights events soon disappear once he grants me sweet release.

He comes up next to me on the bed, knowing that I want more, but sensing how utterly defeated and exhausted I am. I had no sleep whatsoever during my time in the healing room.

Loki: "Sleep sweet, my pet" he whispers while holding me in his arms as my eyes close.
