Chapter 54

Vaish (nervous): Me and Avneet are real sisters and Sharma family adopted me from orphanage
Abhi (shocked): Leaving avni alone you went?
Avni: Bhai situation was different.
Vaish: I am Vaishnavi Rao and Avneet is my younger sister. We belong to a middle class family but a happy one with mom, dad, me and avni. We were around 8-9 when mom was cooking in kitchen and dad was teaching us. Suddenly fire caught in kitchen and in no time fire spreaded in whole house. We both were scared so dad took us out of house then he went back home to see mom but neither mom nor dad came back and our whole house burnt in fire. Neighbors dropped us orphanage. We both lived in orphanage for around 3yrs. There Mr and Mrs Sharma came to adopt a child they found me and asked wardener for adoption. I was not ready to leave Avneet but they promised (she broke down)

Avni hug her rubbing her back. Calming her

Avni (sobbing and calming vaish): They promised us that they will adopt me as well as they want 2 kids. But that time they were out of funds for 2kids

Vaish calmed and apart the hug

Vaish: They took my adoption as they finally convinced both of us. We were happy that we got parents. They regularly used to take me orphanage to meet Avneet for long time. We both understand financial issues. So we waited for the time till they can adopt avu but suddenly they stopped taking me orphanage I was so sad but they didn't cared about it then after some days they went somewhere locking me home and came back with a boy who was nearly my age. They said they adopted a boy as after adopting me they understood girl is a burden for them. Slowly they sweet and caring behave of mumma papa turned into bad one

Her throat dried. She got quite and wiped her Tears. Abhi held her hand squeezing it

Vaish: I was no more a daughter for them but a servant or you can say a burden. They told me I can't go orphanage and meet avi from that day. Once I tried to go but don't know how they got to know and beat me up badly. As they knew if I went in orphanage and at orphanage there will be some enquiry and other things which can cause a problem for them. So I was not allowed. I tried alot to be the best daughter but always failed. They let me go to school and college as I got scholarships and used it for my fees and lived my life as maid for them. Kiyu, Roh met me in 10th. They helped and supported me always but if ever I tried to go against decision then I used to beat up badly. So I always obeyed whatever they say and asked me to do. That's it

She wiped her tears and drank water calming herself. By the time everyone has tears in eyes

Roh (wiped his tears): Yeah correct that's it. You never thought to share this with us? Why? Vaishu we could have helped you yaar. You could have come to stay at my home. I would have asked dad to bring Avneet as well
Vaish: That's why I never like to share with you. Roh you would have done so much for me if I could have shared you but I don't like to be burden
Kiyu: Living with such family who think of you as burden is Okay?
Vaish (biting her inner cheek to control the tears): Umm... No kiyu but there I am like maid for them. So the granting by them is my pay and I work for them
Abhi (his eyes was blood red cause of anger): Now you have job then what's the need to live with them? Just leave them now
Roh (fuming in anger): Yeah job! Do you even know she give 20k of her salary to her parents. When she was about to get termination letter. Do you know how she was scared as anyhow she have to give 20k to her so called mother. She used to spend sleepless nights to work on projects, to complete her studies and also do all the house works. Now I got one thing why studies matters for you the most as you get scholarships

Abhi remembered the incident. He looked down feeling guilty for bursting on her when she had alot of to suffer already

Vaish (squeeze his hand): It wasn't your fault. You don't knew about it
