Ashton POV
I kept reminding Kat how good she looked in the bright colors. I honestly was going to buy them for her just so I can see her in them, but she begged me not to. But who knows, I might just go back for her birthday gift.
"I'm too pale. It makes my skin tone all uneven and gross and I like black clothes, it's just easier for outfit choices and it's never out of style." Kat defends herself as we eat sushi. I knew if I said this out loud she'd ignore me for the rest of my live but this definitely felt like a date. I couldn't help but smile at my thought.
"Why are you smiling? Were you even listening to me?" Kat chuckles alittle and I shake my head, concentrate Ashton.
"Sorry, zoned out a little." I say taking a piece of fish in my mouth, chewing it and watching as Kat plays with her rice.
"Did you still want to go back to school?" I ask, placing my chin in my palm.
"No." She shakes her head, she crosses her legs under the table, her leg nudging with mine. "Why not?" I ask curiously, last time she had said she wanted to.
"I'm not cut out for school. Plus I don't have time." She shakes her head.
"I'm sure you could make it work." I say shrugging.
"I need to get my living situation situated first." She says and I nod. "Yeah I guess, but your welcomed to stay at my place for as long as you need. You can even live with me permanently." I say trying to hide my excitement and shrug at the beautiful girl infront of me.
"Speaking of living situations, I should probably go to the house and like tell the landlord I'm no longer living there."
"Yeah." What if she thinks it's weird that I went to her house and grabbed all her stuff and stuffed it in her car? Great.
"Maybe next week?" I say, stuffing a California roll in my mouth. "Yeah, whenever I guess it just has to be soon so then I can save money and get another place." She sighs exaggeratedly.
"Well you kno-"
Both Kat and I's focus turns to my phone that begins blaring on the table. "Sorry." I mumble picking the phone up.
"Hello?"
"Hey Ashton what are you doing?"
"Oh hey Melanie, I'm with a friend eating. Why?" I say into the phone and can help but notice Kat scrunch her eyes shut, quickly covering her eyes with her hands. She plays it off by rubbing her eyes and then sending me a small but not so happy smile.
"I'm going out to the tavern with a friend people from work, you should come."
"Today? On a Thursday?"
"Yeah? It's not like we have priorities to take care of, right?"
I look at Kat who stirs her straw in her drink. "I'll think about it."
With that I hang up and slide my phone in my pocket. Kat sits quietly infront of me, her eyes trained in her straw.
"Did you want to go out tonight?" I ask breaking the silence. Kat looks up at me, her tongue coming out to dart her semi dry lips.
"Not really, but I could use a drink." She says seriously but then her lips break into a small grin, unintentionally making me do the same.
"Great."

"Two blue moons please." Kat says loudly to the bartender, he nods and turns around. Seconds later he turns back around, handing is the beer.
