- Ashton's POV

Kat was an interesting little thing. She had this persona of a dark and mysterious past and me being the curious guy I am, I have to find out what that mystery is. Who she is. What she is. Why she is the way she is. And her being attractive is a plus. I rarely have female friends, most of my friends were guys so this was different, but nothing weird.

I sat patiently at the table of a coffee shop, waiting for Kat. I had texted her and asked if she wanted to hang. It took her 58 minutes to reply, not that I was counting.

I wanted her to answer all my questions like why she almost always wore black, or why she doesn't like people looking at her eyes, I want to see her hazel eyes, I want to know why she answers in one words or why she hates pizza. I don't know shes just so intriguing to look at and obviously caught my attention.

"Sorry for being late..." Kat appears infront of me and I smile at her. "No it's fine, here sit. What drink would you like?" I ask standing up as she sits down. Her outfit not surprising me at all. Black high waisted shorts, black and red flannel, a black hat topping her head and of course her sunglasses sitting perfectly on her face.

"Mocha frap." She says and I nod, I make my way to the register ordering and paying. I wait for the drinks, looking back towards our table I see Kat touching the bridge of her sunglasses as she looks out the window, her teeth nipping at her lip. She always seemed so anxious.

"Here's your mocha." I say placing it infront of her as I sit across from her, a smile on my face. "Why do you smile so much?" She asks straight off the back and I chuckle confused.

"What's wrong with smiling?" She shrugs and sips her drink, her fingers touching the bridge of her glasses again. "When you don't have a reason to you seem to see it as a ridiculous thing to do." She says and I'm taken back. She's a huge mystery.

"Well Kat, tell me about yourself. Any family?" I ask trying to start off slow and easy. "My mother and brother live 6 hours from here, don't really talk to them." She shrugs and looks out the window then back to me. "What um what about you?" She asks and I can't help but smile, her anxiousness is just so fitting on her, strangely.

"I have a younger brother and a sister and they live with my mom back in Australia." I say and she nods. "How old are you? Obviously your over 21 since you drink but like what's your age?" I say and shake my head at my stupid wording.

"22." She says and nods back at me. "You?" I take a sip of my drink and respond. "23 going on 24." I respond smiling.

"Well good for you." Kat says nodding towards me, "Whens your birthday?"

"September 8th." She says touching the bridge of her glasses and I furrow my brows at her a bit as I examine her features. "Your staring." Kat says touching the bridge of her glasses again.

"Two things, can I see your eyes and why do you do that?" I say and Kat's eyebrows furrow. "Why and do what?"

"Touch the bridge of your glasses, you do it quite frequently." I say in a soft voice not one of judgement, not that I was judging her.

"I don't know, just repulsive." She shrugs and sips her drink. "Well can I see your eyes."

"No." She says avoiding eye contact with me. "Please, I'm sure they are beautiful." I say putting my head lower on the table so I can see her face.

She stares at me for a second and I feel slightly intimidated but I blame it on the sunglasses.

"Just this one time." She says and I nod eagerly. Her hands go to her face, grabbing one of the legs of her Ray-Bans, she sighs and pulls them off, almost in slow motion.

I wait in anticipation as she opens her eyes and I don't know how or why but my eyes widen in surprise.

Her eyes were in fact hazel, the light coming in from the window making them seem intense yet soft and beautiful. She had long eyelashes, not caked up with makeup and I tried to take in her whole face, nothing blocking it, just her pure beauty.

"Alright that's it." She says slipping her glasses on and looking out the window. "You have beautiful eyes." I say still in amazement, my green ones now seemed dull and boring.

"No, they're just whatever." She says coughing her words, then she grabs her bag and stands up. "I should go." She begins walking away so I shoot up and follow her.

"W-What why?" I say as she pushes the door open, me following behind her. "I have to um go, this was... Erm nice I just have to go." She says walking away but I follow her.

"Can we hang out again?" I ask as I walk next to her, her hands touches her glasses again.

"Bye Ashton."
