"Hello Kat, how was the move?" Nathan asks me as I walk through his office doors, a coffee in my hand.
"It was good," I said nodding, a smile plastered in my face. "That's great to hear. On other news, you have been assigned a spot here, I can show you it if you would like..?" Nathan suggests standing up, I quickly nod, of course I wanted to see where I would work.
"Alright then, follow me." Nathan cheerfully says as he leads the way past other people's desks, I look around, smiling at a few of my new coworkers.
"Here's your stop - it's a bit smaller then any others but it should do." Nathan says opening the door to an office.
"Wait? An office? For me?" I ask as I look at the around the clean office, a large window on the wall behind the desk.
"Yes, your work is amazing. We'd like you to contribute more to the company - we see great things with you here." Nathan says gleaming at me.
I can't help but squeal, wrapping my arms around his neck. Nathan freezes under my hug but quickly wraps his arms around my back.
I pull away once I realize I'm hugging my boss so intimately. "Sorry - just got excited." I say clearing my throat and looking at my shoes, my face hot from embarrassment.
"It's all good - I would have done the same." He winks, elbowing my arm slightly. I chuckle and nod, my hands wiping up and down my thighs.
"So when do I start? In my new office." I ask as I stare at the large mahogany desk in the center of the room.
"I say in two days - we still have I furnish it." Nathan says and I nod.
"Well this is great! Thank you so much." I say trying to show him how grateful I am.
"Don't fret." Nathan says smiling at me and I can't help but smile back.

The bell above the door rang as I opened it, Lewis's head instantly popping up.
"Haven't seen you in a while - where ya been?" Lewis asks, a few cd's in his hand.
"Well I recently just moved into an apartment so that's that... And I've just been adjusting to my new job." I say leaning on the glass counter, shrugging my shoulders.
"How's that going to work? You here and there? Can you handle it?" Lewis asks and I shrug. "I have to talk to Jessie about that.. I don't know if I should just get my name off the contract or hire more people.. I don't know." I sigh again, my chin in my palm.
"Jessie!" Lewis yells making me flinch. "She's here?" I ask and he nods, seconds later she comes out from the back, a smile on her face.
"Hey girly, what brought you in today?" She asks standing next to me, leaning against the counter.
"I needed to see what would be best - me getting off the contract for the shop or just hiring people and doing inventory once a month." I say and she nods slowly, her face showcasing that she's thinking.
"Well - I don't want you off the contract, we did this together and I'd hate to continue alone.." She begins and I nod slowly.
"So yeah - you just do inventory once a month and Lewis here will start hiring and interviewing." Jessie says raising a brow at Lewis.
"I guess," he exaggeratedly sighs. Jessie chuckles and turns to me. "So now that we cleared that... How the boyfriend?" She asks leaning closer to me, she sounds like a teenage girl ready for gossip.
I chuckle, my cheeks pink. "Good I guess?" I respond, Jessie hums a response. "She moved out." Lewis adds and Jessie raises her brows.
"Really?" I nod, picking at my fingernails. "I didn't want to live off of him longer than I already did so yeah.. Besides what are the chances of burglars breaking into my apartment again?"
"Very likely." Lewis say shrugging. I roll my eyes, shaking my head slightly. "It won't, it's impossible for that to happen to me again." But it's possible with my luck.
"Anyways," I say patting the counter a little. "I should get going, I have to get groceries and finish the few things around my apartment." Lewis and Jessie, nod hugging me as I make my way out the shop and to my apartment.

"I will never get tired of those damn stairs." I mutter to myself aloud as I close my door. Dropping my keys on the table next to it.
I continue walking, passed my television quickly realizing I have a couch. My eyebrows instantly furrow as I look at the leather couch facing the television that is in fact on.
I wearily continue my way to my room, my head turning from left to right with every step I take.
Once I reach my room, I open the door only to be scared half to death and let out a piercing scream.
"Kat! It's me!" A voice says as their arms wrap around my body. I open my eyes to see Ashton staring at me, a faint smile on his lips.
"You asshole! I thought it was burglars!" I say slapping his chest. He chuckles at that, kissing my temple he follows me into the rest of my room.
"Oh yeah because burglars bring people couches." He says as she sits on my bed. I roll my eyes and shrug, "I was thinking the worst, okay."
Ashton chuckles, nodding his head. "I didn't mean to scare you, I was using your bathroom and going to sit on the couch to wait for you but then you know." He says laughing at the end.
"Look - I'm freaking shaking." I say holding my hand horizontally for him to see my palm twitching.
"I scared you that bad?" He asks and I nod. "Yes, because coincidentally Lewis and Jessie were talking about burglars coming for me before I came home so..." I trail off looking at him.
He only smiles at me, standing up and walking to where I stand by my dresser.
"I would protect you obviously." he says wrapping his arms around my waist. I give a small smile and nod, something instantaneously pops into my head.
"Oh guess what!"
"What?" He asks staring down at me, I grab his hand to bring him back to my bed, both of us sitting down next to each other.
I quickly take my phone out, my excitement too much to conceal.
"I got an office at work! An office! Nathan let me take pictures of the place. Can you believe it?" I say squealing, slightly bouncing up and down on the bed.
Ashton only smiles at me, his beautiful hazel eyes cascading down my whole face.
"Yes, I could." He simply says. I blush at his compliment, my hand going to my hair, pushing a stray strand behind my ear.
"So exciting, I start working there in two days." I say holding up two fingers. Ashton smiles at me, his eyes holding some emotion I can't decipher.
"That's amazing baby." He mutters as he pecks my lips. I only smile back, not wanting to question his suddenly quieter mood.
"Oh, thanks for the couch by the way. He much does your friend want for it?" I ask and Ashton shakes his head, his hand on my hip.
"It was a gift from him to me to you." He says and I furrow my eyebrows but shrug, too lazy to question him.
"So, do you want dinner?" I ask getting up and slipping my shoes off.
"Of course."
