Ch. 29

Next Saturday

I wake up to the smell of pancakes. I get up and run down to see my mom and dad in the kitchen making breakfast. "Good morning." My dad says with the biggest smile on his face. "Morning. Hey can I stay at Logan's tonight? Hailey will be there and Logan's parents will be there too." My parents look at each other and I have a feeling that it can't be good. "Honey, I don't know." "But mom, I have spent the night at Emma's house before when Aaron was there. It's not going to be any different." "Yeah, but it is different because you and Aaron are dating now." "Yeah, but over the summer while you two and Mr. and Mrs. Coleman were on that cruise I spent the night at Emma's house and Aaron and I were dating then and we did nothing." "Janet, we should just let her go. She has already had a sleepover that was co-ed and we didn't have to worry about it. Plus, if her and Aaron did anything she would tell us, right?" "Yes, of course I would dad." I definitely would not tell them what I do with Aaron. I am not telling them that Aaron and I have had sex multiple times over the summer and that I have given him 2 blowjobs. What they don't know won't kill them. "Okay, fine you can go. Just don't do anything dumb." "I won't I promise mom. Thank you." I hug them and the 3 of us sit at the dining room table and eat breakfast.

At 3 Aaron texts me saying that he is outside. I grab my stuff and head downstairs. "Bye mom. Bye dad." "Bye, Sarah. Have fun and be safe." "I will." My parents get up and hug me. I go outside and put my stuff in Aaron's trunk. My parents watch as I get in the car and drive off. Logan's house is about 20 minutes from mine so Aaron and I play throwback music from when we were in elementary school. By the time we get to Logan's house we see that Jacob, Adam, and Hailey are already here. We get out of the car and grab our stuff from the trunk. Aaron puts his arm around me and we walk inside. We see Adam, Hailey, Logan, and Jacob all sitting on the couch watching a movie. "Finally." Logan says looking up from his phone. The 4 of them get up and walk over to us. "What took you guys so long?" Adam asks. "Sorry, I had an argument with Emma and one thing led to another, so I left, picked up Sadie, and we came here." "What did you guys argue about?" Logan asks. "Stupid sibling stuff. I think she is still super pissed about me and Sadie and she kind of just snapped." "What happened?" Hailey asks. I grab Aaron's hand and squeeze it as he answers the question.

"I came downstairs with my stuff in my hand and Emma is sitting on the couch watching a movie. I walk to the kitchen and she makes a b-line right towards the microwave almost hitting me. She then says, 'What the hell is wrong with you. You know that Sarah is my best friend and you knew about the pact. Is dating Sarah some way of you getting revenge for something I did?' I told her she was crazy and that I would never do that. She did not take that lightly and threw a spoon at me. I dodged it, but I knew that if I didn't get her out of the kitchen we could throw something worse. I walk out of the kitchen and into the living room. She follows me and says, 'If you cared about me you will breakup with her.' I told her that I am not breaking up with Sadie and that she is going to have to deal with that fact that we are together and there is nothing she can do about it. That's when our dad walked in. My dad says, 'What the hell is going on in here?' Emma answers him with, 'Aaron is a dick and ruined my friendship with Sarah because of their relationship.' I roll my eyes and Emma throws another spoon at me. I once again dodge it, but my dad is not too happy with Emma or me. My dad looks at Emma and says, 'Emma you need to stop throwing things at your brother. Aaron wouldn't date Sarah just to mess with you.' Emma rolls her eyes and my dad turns to me, 'Aaron, you should probably go. Have fun tonight. Your mom and I will talk to Emma tonight. See you tomorrow.' Emma then yells at the top of her lungs, 'HAVE FUN FUCKING MY BEST FRIEND!' I grab my stuff as my dad yells at Emma telling her she is grounded. I got in my car and drove to Sadie's as fast as I could."

"Wow." Hailey, Adam, Logan, and Jacob all say at the same time. "Anyway, let's just forget about what's happening at my house right now and have some fun," Aaron says before kissing the top of my head. They all nod their heads. Aaron and I put our stuff by the steps where everyone else's stuff is.

After a few hours of watching TV and being on our phones Logan's parents walk into the living room. "Hi everyone." "Hi, Mr. and Mrs. Taylor," the guys say. "I don't know if you guys are interested, but there is supposed to be a meteor shower tonight. It will be really pretty and its perfect weather." Mrs. Taylor says before going into the kitchen. The 6 of us look at each other. After talking about it we decide that we should go and that it would be fun.

At 9 p.m. we all pile into Aaron's jeep. Aaron is driving, I'm in the passenger seat, Hailey is sitting on Adam's lap behind me. Logan is in the middle, and Jacob is behind Aaron. We get to a place in the middle of nowhere around 9:45 p.m. It is pitch black outside. We all get out of the Jeep. Logan and Jacob go explore for a few minutes, Adam and Hailey sit in front of the Jeep, and Aaron and I sit on the top of the car. Aaron and I lie down and I put my head on his chest. When Logan and Jacob come back they get on the hood of the car and the six of us look up and watch the meteor shower. As I watch the meteor shower I can't stop thinking about what Aaron told Emma. How we won't breakup with me just because she said so and that he really does love me. I know he didn't tell Emma that last part, but I know he does. I look over at him and he looks at me. I kiss his nose then mouth, "Thank you." "For what?" he asks in a whisper. "For what you told Emma. That you wouldn't breakup with me just because she said so." "Of course. You are one of the most important people in my life." I smile and kiss him. "I love you so much and nothing is ever going to change that," he whispers in my ear. All of a sudden, we hear Adam and Hailey make out. "Of course, they are," Logan says. Logan, Jacob, Aaron, and I start to lightly laugh.

At midnight we decide to go back to Logan's house and swim. We once again pile into Aaron's Jeep. On our way back, Aaron puts his hand on my thigh and squeezes it. I look at him and he looks at me for a few seconds before he looks back at the road. Throughout the car ride we are blasting throwback music. When we get to Logan's house we all realize that none of us brought bathing suits. "Let's just going swimming in our underwear," Jacob says. We all agree and head outside to the backyard. We all take off our clothes minus our underwear and we jump in. I get on Aaron's back and we swim around. We do chicken fights, marco polo, and other weird and crazy shit. At 2 a.m. we decide to go back inside and go to bed. We all go into the movie room and fall asleep to Monsters Inc. I fall asleep in Aaron's sweatshirt with his arms around me. Like always I feel safe in his arms. Tonight, was amazing and I never want it to end. It sucks that we have school tomorrow, but I don't care. I am in the arms of the person I love.
