One and Only

Ch. 37

When I wake up mine and Aaron's chests are touching. I forgot we fell asleep naked until I look under the covers. I peck Aaron on the lips and he groans. I then kiss him on the cheek and watch his eyes flutter open. When he sees me, he kisses me and says, "Good morning." There is a knock at the door and we see Emma standing there. Luckily, we were both fully covered by the sheets and bedding. "What the fuck, Emma!" Aaron says. "How long have you been there?" I ask. "Long enough." "I just came up here to say that mom and dad are going to be out on a business trip and they leave today." "Okay." Emma then turns around and closes the door on her way out. I kiss Aaron on the cheek and get out of bed.

I put on my clothes and one of Aaron's hoodies. Aaron is still in bed and on his phone. I go up to him and hug him. When I get up I glance at his phone and see that he is texting Jacob, Logan, and Adam. Before I leave Aaron's room to go downstairs he says, "Hey, tomorrow I'm going to hang out with the boys. Is that okay?" "Yeah, of course. Why wouldn't it be?" "I don't know. Some girlfriends just don't like it when their boyfriend hangs out with their friends." "I'm not like that. I think it would be good for you to hang out with the boys. We don't have to spend every moment together. I love you." "I love you too." We kiss and I head downstairs to the kitchen.

When I get downstairs I see Emma in the kitchen. "Hey," I say walking into the kitchen. "Hey." "Look, I'm really sorry for everything." "I'm not mad at you anymore. I was furious and pissed off that my best friend would do that to me. But then I talked to Hailey, and she told me how happy you are with Aaron and that I was being immature for forcing you to stay with the pact all these years. Our feelings do change over time and I was stupid for thinking that you would leave me because you were with Aaron. The fact that you kept your feelings locked away for so long because of our pact and because you didn't want to lose me, shows how much you care for me and I was too blind at the time to see that. I'm sorry, I was being immature and stupid." "It's okay. I still really care about you and I want to be friends again, if that's okay." "Yeah. I would love to still be your friend." Emma and I hug. I wipe away the tears coming out of her eyes. "What just happened?" Aaron asks coming down the stairs. "Nothing," Emma and I say at the same time. I then walk over to Aaron and kiss him. "Because I forgave you can y'all try not to have sex every time I'm home. I don't really want to hear that." I chuckle and Aaron says, "Wait, you two are good now?" "Yeah." Emma says going upstairs to her room.
