CHAPTER 34

NEWWIEE'S POV

The night is still young and some of my colleagues who decided to join the party are drowning themselves yet again with free booze. It only proves that people who works in this business are stingy, always going after free stuffs.

Our interns together with Nammon, the guy Tay stepped on earlier, was with Mond and from the looks of it, they are lowkey glancing at Lee's hot wife, probably betting on something, just like what they always do at the office. Ah, this kids. When will they grow up?

"Hey New, uhm, can I--"

"Hi New!", Sing interrupted Earth from talking when he regarded me, he is smiling with his mouth closed and his hand waving at me. I smiled back at him.

"Can I talk to you for a sec?", he asked.

"Uhhh.. sure?"

I stood up with confusion all over me but still  followed Sing's direction as he walk towards a walled corner.

"Uhmm, congratulations!", he said awkwardly.

"What is it Sing?", I asked straightforwardly. This man probably wants me to introduce him to one of my colleagues.

"Uhm, okay. Remember that night, uhm, at Tay's birthday party..?"

Okay, I guess I was wrong.

"Hm? What about it?"

"Uhm, were you okay..?"

Oh my God.

"What do you mean was I okay?", I think I already know what he means but I want to hear it from him first. Plus, it's fun seeing Sing stutter like this.

"Uhm", Sing groaned, "look, I was drunk that night and I think I may have, uhm, gave.. you.. the.. wrong.. drink..?", his hands constantly moving.

"Are you asking me?" I actually forgot about what he did to me because one, there's really no certainty that Sing was the cause why I feel crazy that night, and two, simple, I had an amazing night. I was even mentally thanking him for keeping me up all night.

"New can you help me, I know you know what I'm trying to say", he said sounding upset.

"Uhm, why are we talking about this?"

"Because I want to apologize. I didn't mean to do that to you--"

"Because you meant to do that to Tay", I finished his sentence for him, and he was stunned.

"Even if that's meant for Tay, nothing will change. I mean, it's not like we don't live together. So even if it's me or Tay that you intended to drug, we'll both end up benefitting from it."

His worried face suddenly lit up.

"I'm being sarcastic, Sing."

He pouted at me like a kid.

"I'm not mad though. The damage is already done. Why are you apologizing anyway?"

He gulped before looking at me.

"Because I owe you one. My friend's partners are my friends as well. And I don't want to have bad blood to any of my friends. You might think I'm a jackass but I care about all of you. It's just that I tend to get on my stupid side whenever I get drunk."

"Okay." I shrugged my shoulders.

"Okay..?"

"I told you, I'm not mad. But it's good that you want to apologize. So yeah, we're okay."
