CHAPTER 53

NEWWIEE'S POV

I woke up the next morning feeling very light and warm despite the heavy arm and leg laying on top of me. Two hours of sleep didn't at all put me in a bad mood as last night was the best night of my life, yet.

Aside from the insurmountable fun I had at the concert that made me admire Ed even more, not to mention the, erm, epic spine-tingling after concert activity where Tay gave me the green light, the highlight of my night was definitely the unexpected proposal my boyfriend suddenly pulled off.

My boyfriend.

Or should I call him my fiancé?

Wow. I'm still on cloud nine until now.

I shifted sideways and stared at my favorite person, rubbing my thumb on his cheeks then onto his lower lip. I felt a stir in my heart when I saw him smile and pulled my body closer to him.

"Morning, love", I murmured but didn't get any response from him. He's still probably on his slumber so I let him sleep more. As always.

Slowly and carefully, I first removed his leg laying on my thigh followed by his arm that just let go from grabbing my waist. I picked up my phone and went out of bed silently.

I was having my coffee while preparing Tay's breakfast and to-go snack when my phone vibrated from the table.

My phone's been blowing up all night since I shared Tay's boomerang IG story of us fist-bumping but only his arm was shown while I was sitting at the car on our way home. It doesn't look like a confirmation at all but the way the diamonds on my ring glimmered throughout the light provided some hint. Plus his caption that says 'YES'.

Few of our friends are sending us their congratulations from which I answered some while my other followers only wanted to gossip about me being engaged.

Engaged.

I'm engaged?

Fuck, I still can't believe it!

I smiled and sighed as the buzzing didn't stop.

"Yes Gunniee..", I answered ever so softly.

My best friend, may or may not be mad after his untiring importunity last night seeking for a detailed proposal story but then I told him how overwhelmed I was that I can't find the right words to express my current feelings and promised to get back at him first thing in the morning.

However, the moment I wake up I still find myself in indescribable bliss that I forgot to keep my promise.

"Newwiee.."

"Do you even sleep?", I asked.

"Last night I did not. I worked my ass until morning and I am patiently waiting for your call."

"Guess you are not patient enough, Gun", I chuckled quietly before pressing my phone in between my ear and shoulder so I could finish Tay's sandwich.

"Can you please share the details now? While I'm still being kind?"

I laughed. I can't even imagine how his curiosity ate him at work all night.

"I'm engaged. Can we just leave it like that?", I said.

A shriek followed.

"Newwiee!!", he shouted.

A shriek followed too.

Then we both laugh.

"At least tell me how did it happen!!"
