THIRD PERSON'S POV

"Love?? Why didn't you tell me you'll be home early?"

Tay was startled when he heard New scream the second he entered the house, the keys clinked loudly at the bowl on top of their living room table.

For all he know, New will be spending quality time with Gun who he haven't seen for a month so while New was away, he decided to surprise him of a dinner date at the backyard but didn't anticipate his boyfriend coming home early.

"What's going on here?", he asked when he finally found Tay at the kitchen surrounded with bags of groceries he bought earlier.

"Sur..prise..?", Tay smiled nervously as he waved his hand unknowingly holding a spatula.

"Sorry for ruining your kitchen. I'll-- I'll clean up, as soon as I finish cooking. You take a rest first", he added and circled around the area throwing stuffs he thinks he no longer need.

"Are you cooking?", the younger asked while approaching him but the older instinctively blocked him for coming closer.

"I'm trying, love", Tay stopped him by the shoulder but New ignored him and walk straight from where he was creating such a big mess.

"Did you go to the grocery without me? I'm sure you went out of the budget. How much did you spend? Are all these necessities?", he continued on rummaging the plastic bags before turning around from where Tay was cooking.

Tay closed his left eye expecting an earful from New but only heard him laugh.

"Are you cooking my favorite dish?", he chuckled and dabbed a piece of cashew nut on his mouth.

"I told you I'm trying", Tay answered with his head down.

"Aww, that's sweet. But I don't think you can pull this off, Te. Look at your saute it's already burned. We need to repeat the whole process."

New put on his apron and started chopping new set of ingredients needed for the saute.

"Why didn't you call me? I should've come sooner. I was just killing time with Gun."

"Uhm, it's because I wanted to surprise you. You always cook for me, you almost do everything in this house and I don't do much for you."

The younger stopped with what he's doing and turned to look at his boyfriend.

"How can you say you don't do much for me? You basically provide me everything. You're like my sugar daddy already. It is just fair that I cook for you. Besides, I love cooking for you. It brings me joy."

Tay scoffed and stepped closer to give him a kiss on the cheek and watched him do the works.

"You sound like a loving housewife", he teased.

"Housewife, my ass!", New's voice raised a little and pushed him with his elbow, laughing softly.

"At least let me help. What can I do?"

In the end, New did all the cooking and Tay diligently wash the utensils he was asked to clean.

"What's the occasion?", New asked when he saw the table setup at the backyard and Tay bringing out a bottle of wine.

"Wait", he gasped suddenly, his eyes widen, "are you gonna propose to me??"

New and his proposal obsessions. Tay can't remember how many times New asked him if he's going to propose already. Sometimes he utter it in an odd way like that one morning he woke him up persistently and when Tay asked him what's his problem, he only smiled and said, "are you gonna propose to me?"
