CHAPTER 39

NEWWIEE'S POV

I woke up from an uninterrupted one hour nap when I thought that there's an earthquake, turned out it was my boyfriend shaking me lightly from my deep sleep.

The last thing I remember was I was spontaneously talking about how my week went from which Tay only responded from nods and forced smiles and sudden stares. I just chose to stop talking thinking he wanted to focus on the road more than me so I pretended to sleep from which became a real one. The next thing I know we're already here.

"We're home Hin. Have your proper rest inside. Let's go."

Tay unbuckled my seatbelt before getting off and went straight to the car trunk to unload my baggage. I stayed for awhile inside while still gathering up the strength to stand up. The trip wasn't that long but I feel drained and all and I just want to get to bed and sleep more.

"Come now, love!", I jolted lightly when Tay knocked on my window waking me up again from my sudden zzz. I quickly grabbed my bag from the backseat and went out.

"Are you hungry? Or do you want to sleep already?", he asked when we got inside and I went straight to the kitchen for a glass of cold water.

But to my surprise, I found uncleaned dishes and trash that's probably been sitting there for days.

"I was only gone for a few days but look at the mess here. How will this house be without me?"

I was actually waiting for him to talk back but he didn't respond on my nag. Instead, I saw him sitting silently at the couch looking lost.

"Te?? Are you okay?"

"Sorry Sir, will wash the dishes now..", he suddenly jumped from his seat and walked at the kitchen sink immediately. So he heard me after all.

"Let me help."

"It's fine Hin, there's only few anyway. I just forgot to wash them earlier because I'm in a hurry as I will pick up a VIP from the airport, and being late is not an option", he side glanced and smirked at me while pulling up the sleeves of his sweatshirt.

"You're so good in acting cool, careful though you might break another item again", I teased on and put my used glass on the sink, he glared at me in response.

"Did Singapore tire you? You look like you haven't slept for days", he asked without looking at me.

"Uhm. People work nonstop there it's hard to catch up."

"Yeah? Well then come here and recharge yourself."

I smiled and hurriedly hugged him from his back, sniffed his shoulder and placed my chin on it. This familiar scent is where I always want to be.

"Where were you, love?

... why did you turn off your phone?

... what happened to you?

... is it still not clear to you that your MIAs terrifies me?

... are you upset at me that's why you run off?"

I waited but he didn't give me any answer.

Truth is, I promised myself earlier that as long as my Tay will be found safe, which I admit I over reacted on handling, I won't persuade him or make an arguement as to why he went suddenly missing if he chooses to not to talk about it. But sometimes my inner self just can't help but to find answers to my unresolved questions.
