CHAPTER 54

TAWAN'S POV

"Hin.. the thing is.."

My heart was beating so fast. So fast that my chest implicates and it's getting harder to breathe.

Fear. Tense. Terror. Panic. And I suppose that is par for the course. I should have confessed long ago and, here I am, still living a lie with my soon-to-be husband.

"I.. about my stepfather. The truth is.. he is--"

"Hi!", a girl approached us and disrupted my serious conversation with Hin, "my name is Beam."

It was the same girl that Hin caught sneaking on our sweet moment earlier. She still looks very young, probably in her late teens, and was all smiles as she exchanged glances on both of us.

"Forgive me for intruding, but I just really need to ask this."

Hin glanced at me confusedly with a frown on his face and I responded with a shrug. I have no idea either what this girl is up to.

"I'm sorry but we're kinda in the middle of--"

"Are you guys", she interrupted me yet again while browsing on her phone, "by any chance.. this couple on the video?"

With my mind still in dubious confusion, I grabbed the phone she handed and watched it with Hin.

It was an almost four-minute video from last night's concert where Ed Sheeran was singing Perfect but she fast-forwarded it from its near end.

I overheard a man's voice on the clip saying, 'babe, look at those two guys', from which a girl responded, 'oh my gosh! Is he proposing? Zoom it! Zoom it!'

"Oh", Hin muttered quietly beside me when the video was zoomed in from where I got on one knee, Hin covered his mouth gaped open and the girl said 'aaawwwwwww' exaggeratedly.

My head drooped down on the said clip and I saw Hin wipe something on his face before helping me stand up.

"I didn't know you already cried on this part", I sneered and gazed at Hin whose eyes were focused on what we were watching.

"Shh!", is what I got from him.

Okayy... I heaved a deep sigh.

Hin was so into the clip that he most probably forgot our previous conversation.

Another 'aawww' was heard when we both hugged and Ed's song also came to its end, 'he said yes', said the girl with a shaky voice.

I smiled.

Then Hin regarded the girl who was standing in front of us.

"Oh! I'm sorry, I forgot you're still here. Beam, right? Shame on us. Have a seat."

She smiled and immediately sat on the chair opposite us.

"I'm so glad you caught this moment on your video. Can I have a copy of this? So I can document it", I asked.

Since it was a proposal I didn't aim to do yet, I wasn't able to capture a picture let alone a video of how it happened. And I'm so happy that such a clip exists. It doesn't matter if the quality isn't that good because it was zoomed way too much. I bet First can work miracles on emphasizing its quality as this is his specialty.

The girl just stared at us, eyes blinking with a smile plastered on her face. I don't mean to sound so full of myself but the way her eyes look at Hin, then on me, then back at Hin, they glimmer like she was starstruck.
