Y/n is just like any other girl except her mother is a Senju younger sister of her Aunt Tsunade Senju one of the three legendary Sanin, and to top it off her father Riker L/n is the King of a small but powerful Nation.
Over the years things happen...
The view from this window was nice from were I was hiding, in me and Shikamaru's usual hiding spot in the palace, I have been back here for three days and would be in Costa Luna for about two weeks. I am currently hiding from Lilac. But, I knew Shikamaru would know where to find me, oh and why is he here, well for the debutante ball, its tradition that the girl walks down the grand stair case with her father. Uncle Jiraiya is out on a mission and so is Uncle Asuma, I would have asked them, so I asked Shikaku, I felt bad for bothering him and taking him out here with me, but he didn't mind at all, he said he was happy to come with me. And once you go down the grand stair case, your 'father' gives you over to your escort.
Now, I knew as a child I would have to do this stupid ball, but the plan was for Sasuke or Itachi to be my escort, now seeing as for obvious reasons why they can't do it. I had to find some one else, I would have asked Naruto but just no, gosh no. So Tori suggested Shikamaru, she even made a whole presentation as to why. It was cute, but she wasn't wrong, since Tori is the one who knows more about how these kind of things work, and there is a father-daughter dance, a slow waltz, the one thing I can't do, but he hands you off to your escort. So he must know how to dance. The biggest reason why I didn't ask Naruto was that. Shikamaru, he was trained to know how to dance, for some reason my mom put that in his contract, I said he didn't have to but he said he didn't mind since if were even in a place where there is a possible threat, it would come in handy so even when I'm on the dance floor, he could be close to me.
I didn't want to pick him, mind over heart is what I tell my self. But for logical reasons I had to, "So you decided to hide where literally no one but me could find you" I looked behind me, Shikamaru was in custom-made guard clothes, simple ones, it was strange not seeing him in his usual ninja clothes.

"That is the point, no one finding me, and were you taking a nap?" I asked as he now stood next to me and I turned a little to face him, "No I was observing Stella and Robin training, I also practiced sword fighting earlier with squad V5. I also went with them to check out the cadets, they have never fought with a ninja so it was good training for both parties" I was happy he got some training in but confused as to why he was doing so much, "It's not exactly in the job description but I don't mind since its for you" he said as if reading my mind. And so after that he dragged me out of there and in to the long empty halls.
"So were are you supposed to be right now?" he asked, I stayed quite for a while and I was going to answer. "PRINCESS Y/N!!!!" I heard an all too familiar voice yell down the hall. "Run!" I told Shikamaru, I held his hand and practically dragged him the first few steps. "How the heck can you run in a dress? Oh and why are we running, she's Tori's dance teacher right?" I rolled my eyes, "It's a skill I have and I don't want to learn how to dance, you know why and to me it just a waste of time!"
