Chapter 52: Burial

Robin's p.o.v

It had been a week since Y/n arrived back at the palace. We all were prepared. We got the news by a messenger from Konoha who came three days after Victora's death. We were all shocked. Her Royal Highness former Queen Tsarina took the news badly, we all did. There was a funeral for Lady Lola and Lady Gewnyth three days ago. Y/n kept a straight face and showed no emotion and looked like a doll, lifeless. Today is Tori's burial. Yesterday was her funeral, Something I thought I would have been dead for, she should have outlived me. I was assigned to go escort her back but I declined the mission for a stupid date that ended horribly. I should be the one dead. If I wasn't so selfish, the moment I decided to try and get over Y/n and move on, this happens.

I was told to go find Y/n, since we will be leaving soon. I walked past Lady Tsunade's chambers. I heard her talking to someone, "Tsunade, only you can speak to her, only you know the pain of losing a blood relative, a sibling. Shikaku, Asuma and I can try but it won't mean much coming from us since we don't kno-" Tsunade Lifted her hand up, "You, Asuma, and Shikaku were close to my sister, you know blood means nothing to us like that. I don't know what I'm supposed to say or-"

I walked away, I shouldn't eavesdrop like that. As I walked to her chambers I saw something I never thought I'd see, Shikamaru looking confused and hesitant. I bet he was sent to get her but he took too long so I was sent. "Just standing there isn't going to get her out of her room" I told him he looked up "Sorry I guess-" I nodded "You don't have to explain it to me, Tori was loved by all. A word of Advice Shikamaru" I knew this would come back to me and bite my ass but "Actions speak louder than words. Also, our job is to protect the crown, never forget that" I said to him, "Now go down to your post Capitan, her majesty would appreciate that" I told him he nodded "Yes Lieutenant" he said and walked away quickly. I knocked on the door "Who is it?" I heard Lilac say. "Lieutenant Robin" and she opened the door and I went in, sitting on the couch was Y/n, dressed in all black, and her crown on her head, with cold and emotionless eye's but at the same time you saw the internal storm and pain going on inside her head.

"Y/n, we're all ready and waiting for you" she looked up at me and the light in her eyes was gone, "Let's go" she said and her voice broke at the end and one single tear came out of her right eye.

Y/n p.o.v

I knew we were close to the main staircase, I looked to my side and looked at the hall we were passing and I closed my eyes for a moment I saw my nine-year-old self with a four-year-old Tori running around yelling 'I'm a Sugar plumb fairy princess', It still ringed in my head once I opened my eyes.

In Front of me was my family and close friends waiting for me. I walked down the stairs with my head hung low, 'This wasn't how it was supposed to go' I said to myself once I reached the bottom. Robin whispered to me "You don't always have to be so strong, there will be no cameras for her burial, no press nothing of that sort" and then he bowed down and walked away. I walked to where my Grandmama and Aunt Tsuna was standing. "Your late child," my Gran said and Tsunade gave her a look. "I know and I am sorry" I started to walk back to where I saw Kendal. But Grandmama grabbed my hand, "No child, have you forgotten the customs. The Queen or Queen heir walks in the front, you mustn't show emotion, since we will walk through the streets, this will be the final goodbye for the people since you requested no press" I was confused at the last part, and it clicked in my head, Robin. I felt so lost and empty. "Tsarina! Can't you see, she is in pain!" Tsuna yelled at her, "Tsunade! It is a custom and tradition! You can not meddle in this one Lady Hokage!" I knew it would get worse if I didn't speak to say anything, I opened my mouth but nothing came out, only a small sob. But I quickly straightened up myself. "I can do it. It's alright Aunt Tsuna" I said.
