Chapter 55: Asuma

I was in aunt Tsuna's apartment. I am always looking through the window, even when the curtain is closed, there is always a crack small enough for me to see. For the past five days, Shikamaru has come, back and forth, 2-7 times a day. Pacing around and looking up at my bedroom window. He has come close to the door only once. Why is he so hesitant to come in? Like sure I get that I'm cursed at this point, but hell, nothing is going to happen to you here in Konoha. I sighed as I looked out once again, 'Day six, he won't come, he has a mission' I told myself.

Today was the day Uncle leaves for his mission with Izumo, Kotetsu, and Shikamaru. I have to go work at the hospital, yeah I kinda work there now. Just for a few hours, then help out with some paperwork Aunt Tsuna's backed up on, then I'll probably go to Auntie Kurenai's house to see how Uncle Asu's Mission went and help her out with dinner since being pregnant is hard.

I jumped out the window and flash stepped to a tree. I decided to practice the flying thunder god technique, I do have marked kunai everywhere in this village hidden. So I concentrated and I opened my eyes. I was at the gates. "Coordination and patients is key" I looked behind me and it was Uncle Asuma, and his team for the mission ready to leave, "I know, But hey at least in a fight I can use it properly" He pulled me into a hug, "Take care of her while I'm gone. Remember tomorrow, have it all set up for the proposal" he whispered to me, "I will and I'm so excited" I whispered back and we let go. He ruffled my hair, "You're doing much better, I spoke to Lady Tsunade, you'll go back to doing ninja work soon, I offered to go with you on your first one back. So keep training kiddo" I laughed a little "I'm not a kid, I'm 15. I'll hold you to that, you might be busy, the first trimester is almost over" I said to him and he gave me a look, "What, you didn't even know that word existed, what makes you think dumb and dumber plus your prize pupil will know" and he laughed super hard and patted my back taking the air out of my lungs, "That's what you get, now go say bye to him, I know you want to". Uncle saying that took me off guard.

I said my hellos and goodbyes to the other two men and then went to Shikamaru, "Hi" I said he looked up at me "Hey". I know him enough and he knows me as well to know, that's all that's going to come out for now. "Episode one of Y/n and Shikamaru, ten more seasons till we get something more" Uncle Asuma said jokingly

I rolled my eyes, "What a drag" Shikamaru mumbled. I patted his shoulder, it was very awkward, but in the back of my head, Kurenai being pregnant popped up. "Take care of my Uncle for me" I said and he looked at me in a strange way, "Don't worry too much" He said and I stepped back. They ran off, I was about to turn around but I hesitated and my eyes fell on Shikamaru as he looked back to where I was. I swiftly turned around and teleported to my office at the Hokage building.

I instantly got a feeling, a bad one, I started to worry. I went and sat at my desk and just on time, Shizune came in with a cart full of papers. "Good morning Y/n, ready to help?" she said as she placed them on my desk. "Yeah, but what is that pile?" I asked her and her happy smile, well..... it struggled to stay like that. "Erm ahh, Your Grandmother sent you work from Costa Luna. And you also have to decline proposal letters plus" and she looked at the door. A few chunin ranked ninja came in with flowers, books, trunks full of clothes, baskets full of jams, cheese, and beauty products, and a huge oil painting with a frame of pure gold came in, and then I realized it was of me and him.
