Chapter 43:Kankuro is going to die?

Team Kakashi, yeah we needed practice. Like me and Naruto can usually synchronize our movements and can predict what one of is going to do next, key word: usually, and as for Naruto, he can be unpredictable 60% of the time to me. While Sakura and I might have some of the same skills and were taught by Tsunade, but we do things differently, like sure I can punch and hit super hard but I calculate how much is needed or if its even worth my time, while Sakura gives it her all, good for her, but it is some times not the most efficient method. As for all of us working together. Kakashi did another test run, we just barely succeeded, the shock to him was me doing the flying Raijin jutsu to get the bells/book.

We were currently getting our first mission and as expected it was a C-rank one, even I was offended. Naruto protested and Sakura tried to smack him to get him to shut up but I stopped her hand and glared at Naruto to make him stop.

"With all do respect Auntie, I think we can take on a harsher mission" as I said that someone came rushing in. There was a message sent from the sand. Gaara had been kidnapped and Kankuro had been badly injured and they needed a poison specialist. I smiled and looked at Sakura. So since there are no other teams available, that meant we had to go.

Tsunade went to drop us off at the gates. Uncle Jiraiya was there, leaving for a mission I assume, Aunt Tsuna told him what ours was about and he pulled Naruto to the side than me. "Be careful, do not hesitate if you see him. Use your eyes if you have too" I nodded "I will be don't worry"

As we ran off to the sand, my mind wandered, Shikamaru had been Temari's escort the whole time she was here, why? It makes no sense to me "They have gotten closer while you've been gone" Sakura said. I looked down "I don't care about him like that. He is ancient history and so are my feelings. You can't lose sight of the target. Mine is that bastard and the bitch. Protecting my sister and team is what matters to me" she sighed, "Alright, but I'm always here if you need to talk." I nodded

We were about five hours into the mission when we saw Temari walking, we stopped and told her what was going on. She had no idea but non the less was very concerned, its her siblings, I can only imagine what she feels. Although we didn't get along so well back then, I hope we will now.

*Three days later*

We had made it to the Sand Village, everyone was happy to see Temari safe and alive and we rushed to where Kankuro was and some old lady yelled at me and Kakashi, "WHITE FANG AND THE SLUG PRINCESS!", the names of our dead parents. Naruto protectively got in front of us and the other old guy told his sister, I assume since he called her sis, that Sakumo has been dead and so has my mother.

"Oh well never mind" She said and laughed "Your mother and Aunt were a pain to me in the war" she told me, and I was going to respond but Kankuro was growing in pain. I threw Naruto my mission bag, Me and Sakura immediately went to check on him. "Whoever doesn't have to be here, please leave" I said and I tied up my hair and started to examine him. Sakura and I looked at each other and then we stuck our fingers in his mouth to see his saliva. "Who are you and what are you doing?" One of the sand medic's said, "Were Leaf village medical ninja". I looked at the saliva, it was thick and had a very pale color, I checked his pulse and. And me and Sakura already knew, "You say it" I told her "Were dealing with a heavy metal-based toxin, the kind that attacked muscle tissue, destroying the cells integrity" Sakura said and I nodded, they were all shocked that we got that from one look "Can we see his chart?" and they gave us both a copy, "The cardiac muscle will be weak to the point where the heart will collapse and stop functioning all together. It's doubtful we'll be able to come up with an antidote in time" She said and I looked at her confused. "What are you saying! There is nothing you can do!" Temari said and she looked panicked, I cleared my throat, "Sakura, don't be so dramatic, sure its a 10% chance but it's still higher than 0.01%. Sakura will need a few things fast and now! Saku once you get out the first round of poison, give it to me, I have an idea for a cure" I told Temari, "The method we'll use is pretty crude but it's the only way" Sakura said

They immediately set up a lab for me and gave Sakura the bucket of water. I will do the first round, I concentrated, Kankuro started to move, "Hold him down!" I said, and I infused my chakra and found the toxins, and then at the same time me and Sakura pulled the water back up and it had a black metallic liquid in it. "Is that the poison?" Temari asked, I nodded "Only 1% of it" I said "Another" Sakura said, and I took the one that had the poison and I got started.

"I need a list of all the medicinal herbs you have, I'll also need Phlebotomy and vilas" I said. "Tsunade is going to kill you if you use that method" Sakura said, "She can yell all she wants but this is someone I know, I will not let him die Saku". One of the sand nin gave me the list, "Oh and pass me my bag as well! Bring PA1, DF3, OX5 and the last five" I said and they left, while Naruto brought me my bag and I went in, its an antidote Orochimaru said might be useful to kill most poison's. It was a milk while liquid, I tested it and 75% successful. The Sand medic nin came in with the Phlebotomy (the thing they use to draw your blood)

I saw Kakashi come next to me, "I'm working" i said, as I took off my vest and sweater and I was left in a tank top, "Tsunade is going to be mad" I stuck the needle in and put the capsule at the end of the tube and my blood started to come out, "Then let her be mad, she'll understand" and I filled up two vials, then took out the needle and but a bandaid on. "I need a chem set STAT" I said, and another medical nin went out running while another came in and gave me the medicinal herbs, I crushed them, the chem set came, and I boiled the herbs. As that was happening, "Umm Lady Y/n what will you be doing with your blood?" One of the Sand nin asked, "Classified but I'll tell you. In my blood there is a specific cell, an enzyme, it's a genetic mutation that happened in only me, Cause of my ancestor Hashirama Senju and my Fathers side of the family, I separate it from the bloodstream add a few things plus the other, and there's your cure. He'll need two doses but I'll make four just in case it hits him really hard. My mother found this out when it was my yearly check up, she consulted other medics, they told me to think about this as another forbidden Jutsu. After this he might be immune to poisons with a metal based toxin and others laced with most chemicals''

"Thank you Y/n" I heard Temari say, I looked at her and smiled, "Any time", I mixed the purple enzyme liquid with the milky white one plus the herbs and it turned pastel purple. "Done, he's out of the woods, I'll need and I.V drip on him STAT. Y/n how's it coming?" Sakura asked me after she ordered everyone around. I was making a final test and it was done. "Finished, is the I.V in him?" I asked and I put one dose in a syringe, I got up and turned around, Sakura was putting it in him, and this one had an I.V push for direct medication, so I inject it into him and the color in his skin started to come back and a few minutes later he stopped sweating.

I sighed in relief and walked out the room and into the hallway. "Ugh Lady Temari isn't here, she's doing nothing, so what do we do now!!!" I heard voices in a room. I walked over and it was sand nin, "If one of your loved one was at death's door, you would know how she feels! Now go do your job!" I told them. The blonde one came up to me and "Who the fuck are you. What makes you think you can talk to us like that!" He was about to slap me but another Sand ninja came in and stopped him, "Kasu!!! DO YOU WANT TO START A WAR! Respect Princess Y/n!!" Both guys got scared, "You're lucky I'm in a good mood. Now leave at once" both left scared, "Thanks for that" I said, "Any time oh and the names Kaji" I nodded, "Nice to meet you" he seemed like he had a lot in him that he needed to get out, "Alright what is, how can I help you."

"We need direction, the council elders aren't making sense, Lady Temari is occupied and none of us want to bother her" I sighed, "Alright let's go, I'll help you, Naruto and the others can take care of it. I'll catch up to them if I have to"  

A/n: Hello my lovely readers, I am so sorry for the late update, but within the next 24 hours, I'll post another chapter. This arc has no Shikamaru. But, I promise once it's done, there will be a lot of him.
