Chapter 8: Small Sparks

Chapter 8:

(Y/n & Shikamaru age: 9½ )

Yoshino's p.o.v

It's been a year and a half since the death of Y/n's parents, she's been doing good, there are nights were she can't sleep because the scene of her parents death replays, the first time I woke up I made in time, but then one night I noticed Shikamaru made it just before me and he seamed to calm her down. Now if you know Shikamaru he has no patients when it comes to females but for some reason, he treats her differently. They both have gotten very close and when she is here, if he's not with Choji or training, then you'll find him some were with Y/n. Training, walking, playing, cloud watching, her reading a book while his head is on her lap, or just sitting in silence. I think it's kind of cute how close they are. When ever Shikaku comes home from work and sees them together he smiles.

Today Y/n sister Tori, she's 4½ now, will arrived to visit her and lets just say she keeps us all on our toes.

Y/n p.o.v

Peace and quiet, just how Shikamaru likes it. I am currently reading one of my books, 'History of Royalty', its not the most interesting but it is necessary for me to read it. As I read Shikamaru is next to me, laying down and watching clouds as usual. Were on the hill that we met a few years ago. I think it's a little to quiet, "Y/n don't you think it's too quiet". As if he's reading my mind, "Yeah, hey Shika umm what day is it today?" I asked him, he looked up at me "it's Friday why?" "Oh no" and I got up and I was about to go down hill when. "ELDER SISTER", she beat me too it. Victoria was running up to us, I saw her escorts calling her to come back down. "ELDER SISTER" Tori said as she jumped up on me to catch her, we both ended up falling down. "And for the next two weeks the peace is disburdened" Shikamaru mumbled. I hugged my little sister "Hey Tori, I missed you too" she looked up at me, I think she was going to say something but she noticed Shikamaru, she wiggled out of my grip "BIG BROTHER SHIKA" and she was running towards him "NO no Victo-" and she jumped on to him, making Shikamaru lose his balance and fall, causing them to roll downhill, I started to laugh uncontrollably, I made my way down.  "Well that was graceful" I said to them, Tori was on top of Shikamaru all giggly, I pulled her up and gave her a look "Thank you big brother for catching me" Shikamaru got up and brushed the dirt off him "Yeah yeah yeah, why do you keep calling me that?" "Yeah you started calling him that a few months ago." We both looked at my sister and she gave us one of her classic closed eye smiles "In the book 'Tale of two realms' there's 2 characters you both look like them, and they end up together soooooooo both of you will too"

Our mouths were wide open and for once Tori left me speechless, after a few seconds she started to run away "VICTORIA ASTRID TSUKIYAMA L/N SENJU YOU GET RIGHT BACK HERE!!!" I yelled at her, I started to feel the vain in my head pop "And Grandmama says she is 4 years smarter then kids her age." Shikamaru just huffed "Well she's probably running off to my place or yours, where do you think she wants to stay tonight?" "Probably yours, your mom did promise her she would make Yakitori when she would come, and I can't cook that and you know if I do try, I'll probably burn it". And so, we started to walk back to his house, we walked in silence, a nice kind of silence, not the awkward kind. I was a bit behind Shikamaru, I looked at him, I never noticed how his eyes looked, milk chocolate brown, there the kind of eyes that you feel you can stare at and get lost in. Wait, what am I saying? I sound like Sakura and Ino when they talk about Sasuke. Gross, Shikamaru is one of my best friends, not a crush. "Do I have something on my face?" Shikamaru said snapped me out of my thoughts, "What?", he rolled his eyes "I said, do I have something on my face cause you have been staring at me" my face felt hot "Oh um no I was just lost in though hehe"
