Chapter 67: Pain, that *%$&#$, Naruto's gonna kill him

Shikamaru's p.o.v

I was coming back from a one-day mission. It wasn't so bad, I let my mind wander for a while and I remembered the interaction I had with Master Jiraiya before I left.

*flashback*

I was on my usual hill, watching clouds. "Mind if I join you?" I looked to my side and it was Master Jiraiya, "Not at all" and it was quiet for some time until, "I have a mission soon, it's top-secret. But that's not the reason for me being here. I want to talk about my lovely goddaughter with you. My little Y/n" I was taken back "So your more than just an uncle figure. That explains a lot, more things make sense now" he chuckled "Well of course, I am responsible for her as well. She is very important to me, so all who come into her life in a certain way, I'd like to get to know them. You my boy are special"

I knew where this was gonna go. Truly I hadn't thought that far along, but it made sense why he concerned himself. "Ha, I'm a fool, your just kids, you don't think like adults. But she has a crown, but that will never define her" the sage said to me, I took a deep breath "My intentions are pure. I would never want to harm or hurt Y/n. I haven't thought that far but I promise to make sure she is happy and to never hurt her" I said to him and he smiled a bit. "You have my blessing kid. Don't screw up. She's a special girl. The kind you only meet once in your life. I want and expect only the best for her"

*flashback over*

Once she got back, I don't want to waste more time, but it's like the world's against us. But I do love her, and I owe her that much.

Y/n p.o.v

I was on my mission with Uncle. We had gone on 4 so far. But this one, I knew nothing, plus I left without telling Aunt Tsuna I was gonna go. The only thing I was told was that Tsunade didn't want to send him. Shizune said that. I knew this one had to be deadly then. I knew she was starting to let go of the titanium wall she had around her heart. As a little kid, I shipped them, I wanted my godfather and mother to get together in real life. I knew Aunt Tsuna always had a soft spot for him, and he never gave up on chasing her. Before we left. I hate myself for it. I walked into her office without knocking on the door. They might have kissed.

But hopefully, we finish this mission sooner than later. So we can get back home and have a family dinner, we haven't had one of those in a long long time.

We stopped. "What's wrong?" Uncle turned to me, his eyes were full of love and sadness. He pulled me in tight and hugged me. I was confused. He never acted like this. "I can't bring you with me. It's too dangerous. You are the last person Tsunade has. I can't do it to her, I can't do it to your mother, and your father my student" I hugged him back, "No I can do it, uncle I can help you!" I said to him, he hugged me tighter "I love you so much kid" "I love you too Jiraiya" and we let go, he looked down at me, "There is a chance I won't come back alive. If you come with me, you might get hurt, I can't have that. You will do great things in life, you will surpass your parents, you are everything and so much more than what your mother and father hoped for you to be. I am proud of you child. I know Naruto will always look out for you and Shikamaru will be with you as a friend or more since even I my self can't tell" He pushed me back a little. And I was gonna move closer to him but I was stuck.

"I do this because I love you kid. Tell Tsuande I love her too" and he disappeared. I banged on the invisible wall in front of me. "LET ME OUT PLEASE!" It started to rain but I didn't get wet.

I knew this seal would not break until he und did it or, no don't think that. I then remembered something. I always carried it in my pocket. Just in case. My mom's empathy link. I have summoned Luna, one of my wolf's wolf pups. She has been keeping me company. It took me about five hours to try and connect with it since I am not the original user. I know Selena took 22 hours. But for me, I'm a blood descendant. Uncl- no Big brother Jiriaya, connect. Show me what he see's, connect with his eyes. I knew doing this, especially with a link that's not mine would drain me but I need to see, I need to know.
