"Baby I know that you've been wondering,
So here goes nothing"- Brett Young

The day finally came to an end and Hailey and Jay made their way out the building and too their trucks, sweating themselves about the conversation they were going to have very soon. Both knew that however the conversation ended, their partnership and friendship would be rocked one way or another: Both hoping it would be rocked for the best, not for the worst. If it rocked for the worst, that would mean their friendship they had built was over and they'd lose each other. Lose the best thing that ever happened to both of them; the thought of that sending shivers up their back.

Twenty minutes later, the duo arrived at the agreed bar and ordered a- very needed- whisky each. The sting of alcahol made them I tiny bit more ballsy the other day, so maybe it would today aswell.

"Jay"
"Hailey"

They both spoke at the same time, wanting to get to the conversation quickly.

"You go" Jay smiled shyly

"I...I don't what to say" Hailey shrugged her shoulders, really not knowing where to start or how to start.

"W...what were you going to tell me at the hospital last year?" Jay asked, giving Hailey a way in without it being too uncomfortable. Jay knew what Hailey was going to say at the hospital and he was all ready to say it back, that was until his phone buzzed anyway.

"I...I can't remember. I think I was just running on adrenaline and lack of sleep" Hailey answered, but it wasn't a total lie. She was running on a lack of sleep and a wod of adrenaline that day.

"Hailey, we can't keep dancing around this. Especially now it's got in the way of our friendship and everyone else's when we're all together" Jay said. If they weren't going to have the conversation for their sake, then they had to for the teams sake. It was awkward as Hell at work during the past week whenever both were in the same room for more than two seconds, and everyone picked up on the vibe.

"I know. I...You. Us. You're my best friend and the person I trust whole-heartedly. I don't wanna lose that" A tear slipped down the side of Hailey's cheek, her emotions overwhelming her. The fear of losing Jay broke her heart over and over.

"You won't. Ever. You mean too much to me to just lose you like that" Jay assured Hailey, with a click of the fingers gesture.

"Yeh, same" Hailey nodded, rubbing her fingers up and down the glass of her untouched drink.

"But...how do we move past this?" Hailey asked, unsure of what to do about the limbo stage they were in.

"I don't know. But, all I know, is that I don't see you just my best friend. I haven't for a while" Jay admitted, his heart racing at a million beats a minute.

The line had been crossed and there was absolutely no going back to normal now.

"Yeh?" Hailey breathed out, a mix of disbelief and fear waving through her.

"Yeh" Jay confirmed nervously.

Hailey didn't say anything, she just stared at him with tears in her eyes. She honestly had no idea what to say to that. Instead of saying anything to prove she felt the same, she decided to show him.

Hailey slipped down from her stool and walked to stand beside Jay- the barstool height helping bridge the significant height difference between the two- and continued to admire the emerald eyes that were so perfect and capturing to her.
"Hail..." Jay started in whisper, but was cut off by Hailey's lips gently crashing against his.
