"God gave me you for the ups and down,
God gave me you for the days of doubt
And for when I think I lost my way, they're are no words here left to say- it's true,
God gave me you"- Blake Shelton.

"Yes" Jay blurted out confidently, catching Hailey completely off guard.

"What?!"

Jay smirked a little at Hailey's reaction, and because of what he was about to do. Jay hadn't planned any of it out, he just knew that he had to say something and that he had to propose to her; Jay wanted to propose for years, and he wasn't missing out on the opportunity- even if Hailey already beat him too it.

Walking round the counter and removing Hailey's glass from her hand and placed it onto the counter behind, he took Hailey tiny hands in his and gazed into her watery and beautiful eyes.

"I love you"

Hailey's eyes softened and her shoulders relaxed, once again shocked at the way Jay loved her and looked at her.

"And I've known for.....I've known for years that I want it to be me and you, always" Jay stated, not being able to actually pin-point the moment he fell in love with his best friend.

Jay paused for a second so Hailey could stop him doing what he was about to do if she wanted; even though deep down he knew Hailey wanted this as much as he did.

With no reaction other that tears slipping down her face, Jay bent down onto one knee. "Hailey, will you marry me?" Jay asked, looking into her eyes with all the love.

"You don't have to do that, I already done the proposal part" Hailey smiled, swallowing the lump at the back of her throat.

"Yeh, well, I'm old fashioned- okay?" Jay chuckled, Hailey's light chuckle meeting his shortly behind.

"Yes. Yes I will" Hailey beamed, nodding her head.

Grinning from ear to ear, Jay stood up and wrapped Hailey in arms, attaching their lips. It wasn't a passionate or needy kiss- they had forever after all to do that- it was just sweet and tender.

"I love you, so much" Hailey cried, when the two parted for breath.

"I love you, too" Jay reciprocated, wiping away his own happy tears.

"We're gonna get married" Hailey lightly laughed in complete disbelief.

"Mmhmm" Jay hummed, a slightly smug smirk plastered across his face.

The two went back in for another kiss, this time for passionate and needy; but it was soon interrupted when Jay pulled away abruptly.

"You getting cold feet already, Jay?" Hailey questioned, half joking and half serious.

"No, two sec" Jay laughed, kissing Hailey briefly before going to search through the kitchen cupboard.

"What you doing, Jay?" Hailey asked, totally confused but amused by Jay's random move.

"Ah, got it!" Jay exlaimed, ripping open a Harry-bo packet and fetching out the ring-shaped sweet.

"What?"

"This! I know it's not a shiny diamond or whatever, but it's the best I have at the moment" Jay said, standing back up and making his way back over to Hailey.

"Really?!" Hailey giggled, seeing the sweet in Jay's hand.

"What? Makayla didn't want it and it is pretty classy if you ask me" Jay said, laughing at Hailey's adorable, childish giggle.

"I mean, it is very us" Hailey shrugged, holding out her left hand for Jay to slide the ring onto.

"Yeh?" Jay raised his brow, ready to slide the ring on at the word.

"Yeh, it's the thought that counts" Hailey winks, watching Jay slide on the jelly ring.

"Very snazzy if I say myself" Jay commented, grabbing Hailey by the waist and lifting her up.

"Very snazzy" Hailey agreed, squealing delightfully as Jay spun them around; both of them laughing like little children and care free for the first time in forever.

The worries of the last two days were nowhere to be seen, the whole world outside their little bubble was silent; it was just them. Happy, joyful, over the moon.

Engaged.
