It was a grim day in Chicago, in more ways that just the weather. A triple homicide had happened across the course of the morning, killing two children and a teenager; all separate events, but all very clearly connected. The unit had been chasing false leads the whole day, running into dead end after dead end; it was frustrating, especially because it was children.

"Okay, Whitley Mannor School. Hannah,  Gabriella and Jake went to this school/nursery whatever you wanna call it. It's gotta be this" Kev said, rubbing his hands across his face.

"We've gone through all teachers, non of them have any track record of violence or any motive" Hailey sighed, throwing down her pen.

"Hang on, one of the supply teachers. She's worked with every child and was let got go for queathobale behaviour" Jay slammed on a mug-shot of a young Caucasian woman. "Ophelia Vasiliki Petidrii, thirty-five years old....."

"Grew up in Greek Town and got tangled in the Foster system at sixteen. Been in bother ever since" Hailey interjected, cutting Jay off mid-flow and catching everyone's attention.

"You know her?" Kim asked.

"Yeh, I know her" Hailey confirmed, her stomach churning at the thought of her past coming back to haunt her again.

"Neighbour?" Kev questioned.

"And we went to the same school. We were friends for a while" Hailey expanded slightly, not wanting to give too much away if she didn't have too. "But she'd never do something like this. Was she messed up? Absolutely. Would she murder three kids? Nope"

"Snatch her up anyway. Kim and Kev go, the rest of you do more digging" Voight ordered, and the two officers were off.

"You good?" Jay checked, peering over his computer to his fiancée.

"Yeh, I'm good" Hailey nodded unconvincingly.

Jay didn't push though, knowing it would only wind Hailey up and make her stack up her walls again.

"You're friend has one hell of an attitude, Hailey" Kim scoffed, entering the bullpen after settling Ophelia into the interrogation room.

"She's not my friend" Hailey coldly snapped, not even flinching at everyone's looks.

"Hails" Jay quietly scolded.

"Sorry, it didn't mean to come out like that" Hailey apologised whole heartedly.

"Don't worry about it" Kim forgave, placing her hand on Hailey's shoulder for just a second.

"Go join Kev, she might open up easier" Voight instructed to Hailey- a pit instantly forming in her stomach.

"She won't" Hailey argued.

"You got an issue, Upton?" Voight raised his brows, it was almost a challenge to see how much Hailey would argue.

"No, Serge. I just don't think it's in her nor I's best interest for me to go in there" Hailey replied, doing her best to keep her cool with the situation. If the truth got out, she was sure all her friends would hate her and that Jay would run for the hills.

"Hailey, you're going in" Voight ordered in a stern tone.

"Fine. But, I'm warning you, I won't be responsible for any flying fists" Hailey made clear.

"Look who it is. Long time no see" Ophelia smirked, stopping mid conversation when she saw the short blond enter the room and take a seat next to Kev.
