General POV

Hailey and Jay drove the peaceful journey to a woods just outside of the main city. The view they were met with when they arrived, didn't fail to stun them yet again. The trees stood tall and proud and the sun sneaked through the lush green blanket, lighting up the path. It was truly beautiful.
"Best way to stretch legs after a two hour drive" Hailey smiled, taking in the familiar scenery in awe. "I'm flattered" Jay joked, pulling Hailey under his shoulder as they began the walk. "You're funny" Hailey sarcastically laughed, rolling her eyes at Jay's huge ego. "Awe thanks, Haileybobs" Jay cheered, knowing Hailey hated that nickname Kevin gave her. "You want to end up in that river?" Hailey threatened in a serious tone. "You wouldn't" Jay challenged. "I would" Hailey glared, finding it hard to keep a serious face. "Whatever" Jay rolled his eyes, walking ahead of Hailey. "Ugh, I hate you" Hailey groaned. "Ofcourse" Jay turned around, winking at Hailey mischievously. "I give up" Hailey mumbled, before running to catch up.

As the walk continued, the couple settled into a calm conversation and comfortable silence occasionally. Just simply holding each others hand, as they strolled through the woods was more than enough for both Jay and Hailey. Aslong as they had each other's company, they didn't care wether they it was silent or not. "I love you" Hailey spoke up, breaking the peaceful silence for just a second. "I love you, too" Jay reciprocated, Hailey's words giving him the extra assurance of what he was going to do was absolutely the right thing. "You know, this place was our first official date" Hailey pointed out, her detective side catching onto a pattern. "I know, that's why I bought you here" Jay stated, squeezing Hailey's hand a little tighter. "And, actually, part one of our first date" Jay corrected. "Okay, first part of our official first date"  Hailey rephrased mockingly, sticking her tongue out playfully. "Wait...so does that mean we're going to Bartolios after this? I'm starting to pick up on the pattern" Hailey questioned, looking up to Jay hopefully. "You got me. I gotta learn to not date detectives" Jay chuckled. "Yess!! I've been craving pizza for like a week!" Hailey cheered, air punching the sky. "You should've said. We could've ordered it one night" Jay said, amusment evident in his voice. "We'dve been having it every night then. Pizza and that cheese and salami sandwich" Hailey practically dreweled just at the thought of her new favourite sandwich. "I gotta say, your taste is getting more and more bizzar" Jay grimmaced, shuddering at the thought of eating a cheese and salami sandwich. "I'm a weird girl" Hailey shurgged, wanting to keep her secret a secret just a little longer. "You're not wrong" Jay huffed.

****
In Bartolios, Hailey and Jay sat at the back booth. It wasn't too quiet, you could still hear the soft music in the background- which was playing copy comic- but it still provided a good amount of privacy; perfect for the couple. Jay ordered margarita and Hailey ordered Hawaain, causing an argument about wether pineapple belonged on pizza or not. "Jay, you're the health freak. You should like it because it's the only healthy thing about pizza" Hailey reasoned. "Yeh, but healthy stuff doesn't belong on pizza" Jay countered, taking a sip of his beer. "You're super confusing to try and figure out, Halstead" Hailey shook her head. She never could figure Jay out, even after being a couple for two years and partners for four. Jay was a war vet, yet he freaked out over needles; it made no sense to Hailey, along with many other things about Jay. "Just keeping you on your toes. Anyway, I don't see you with a beer. You've got water, which makes you the health freak today" Jay pointed out, smugness glowing on his features. "I didn't want beer, I just fancied water" Hailey defended herself. "You never pass on a beer though" Jay raised his brow. "Stop being so panikity" Hailey frowned. "Okay, okay" Jay said, throwing his hands up in surrender. "On another note, is this the last suprise or have you got more up your sleeve?" Hailey asked. "It's the last one" Jay lied casually. "It's been a really nice day, Jay. Thankyou" Hailey took Jay's hand in hers across the table, incredibly grateful for all that Jay does for her. "Ofcourse, you deserve it" Jay stroked this thumb across the top of Hailey's hand, a meaningful gesture they've had since the beginning of their relationship.
