(4 Weeks Later- Authors Pov)

Kisame held onto Itachi who was trying to swat his hand away.

Itachi: I already told you I can walk by myself.

Kisame looked concerned but ended up letting Itachi walk on his own. They weren't far from home as they could both finally make out the dim lights of the house. It was currently 8:00 pm which most would find as an odd time to come home from the hospital, but itachi decided to come home a day early. He was tired of staying in bed and getting teased by Kisame.

The sound of the keys jingling made Itachi a bit wary of entering the house. It had been about a month since he had stepped foot inside the home, and the memories of that night started popping up in his head.
Kisame noted the sudden change in his behavior and held Itachi's hand tightly.

Kisame: It's alright, I'm right here.

Itachi looked up at Kisame and nodded his head. Together they walked in as Kisame grabbed both of their overnight bags and set them down next to the door. Itachi walked ahead and let his eyes scan the room diligently. He walked up the stairs and halted when something caught his attention. He saw blood in the small cracks of the wood floor. They were barely noticeable, but he could still see them.

Itachi continued up the stairs and began heading to his room. His hand stopped on the door nob; not knowing what to expect, he shut his eyes and waited for someone to attack. It never came.

Itachi: Get a grip, idiot. . . . .

He walked in and sat on the bed. the room was colder than the whole house which sent some kind of shiver down the Uchiha's spine. Itachi noticed the book on his nightstand and grabbed it, reading the almost faded cover in the front.
It was the book he most enjoyed while being at the Akatsuki hideout. Thinking Kisame brought it back, he set it down back on the nightstand and sighed.

*creak~*

In an instant, Itachi sat up and turned to the window. He began panicking and backed away. That's when a pair of hands grabbed him from behind.

Itachi: Ahhhh!!

Kisame who was behind him got startled by the sudden scream and tried calming Itachi down.

Kisame: It's just me, calm down.

Itachi stopped screaming and turned to Kisame. He relaxed a bit and.

Itachi: I'm sorry, I just-

Kisame: I know. 

Kisame looked at Itachi worried and lead him out of the room by the hand. Itachi seemed a bit confused and allowed the tall man to guide him to where ever he wanted to take him.

Kisame: I think you're gonna like this, Itachi-san.

Itachi: What makes you say that?

Kisame: You'll see.

He winked at the last part which made Itachi's cheeks heat up slightly. Kisame's flirting and jokes had gotten worse while Itachi was at the hospital. He would say stuff that either annoyed or made Itachi blush to an extremely red hue.

When they both reached a room downstairs, Kisame swung the door open and the sight made Itachi's eyes widen.

Kisame: Tadaa!!

Itachi walked into the room and let his eyes scan all around.

Itachi: Y-You didn't have to do all of this.

Itachi quickly turned to face Kisame who shrugged and walked past him.

Kisame: You did say that you wanted to adopt the kid. I decided that it would be nice for him to have a space for himself.
