(Author's POV)
Madara looked along sighing and wishing he was anywhere but the damn podium. It had been many years since he'd stepped foot on the battlefield. Just watching people line up in their respective companies made him rethink on the old days. It was the most nostalgic and yet revolting feeling he'd ever felt. Gaara was giving his oh so long speech that was enough to make Madara want to shove him aside and let him do the quick talking.
"You seem like you're in a cheerful mood." Sasuke said to Madara. He turned to look at the young Uchiha.
"I'm not"
A smirk of amusement appeared on Sasuke's face before he stood right next to Madara on the stand. Madara and Sasuke were paired up and made in charge of making sure that everyone in the company mowed down through the White Zetsu's before more of them appeared. Afterall, it was Madara and Zetsu who created them so they both knew the weaknesses and abilities of these things. Sasuke was put alongside with Madara just to amplify the companies' power and group strength. The only thing that did bother Madara out of this whole ordeal was the fact that almost no one knew about the reanimation jutsu. The plans that Madara, Zetsu, and Obito had lost long ago had the jutsu written down and how to make it work and let's just say that Madara was not prepared to see anyone from the past any time soon. Nor did he think anyone without the knowledge of the plans would want to see past loved ones who'd just be used as a piece of weaponry. It took these people long enough to process that Madara was alive, and Madara hated the attention he was getting out of it.
He was brought back from his many thoughts when the Shinobi began to move and run in the direction that they were ordered to go. Madara cracked his neck as a method to warm up before jumping down and moving along with his group, listening to the men and women following right behind. Though, Madara wasn't thinking about how to manage these people. All that came to his mind at the moment was Yui. It had been almost a month since he'd last seen him, but the moment they saw each other a couple of days ago, Madara was stunned by the condition he was in. Those big doe eyes that once held so many emotions of happiness and liveliness had lost their color and shine. Yui seemed like a shell of himself and Madara could do nothing but watch as his former partner brake apart right in front of him. He wasn't the sentimental type, but something inside of him broke. Madara had always believed he was responsible for Yui. Nothing could make him hate the guy, but Madara just assumed it was because he reminded him so much of Hashirama. The name itself brought Madara back to the times where they'd both fought and laughed together.
Madara grit his teeth and glared at the white Zetsu in front of him. His reason to not destroy the whole earth surrounding him with a couple of meteorites was hanging on by a tread. He roughly drew out a katana before slashing right through a couple of the Zetsu's in frustration.
Many of the other ninja's followed his lead and began tearing each and every Zetsu apart. Ironically, the real Zetsu stood next to Sasori and the other Akatsuki members while watching his own kind getting utterly wreaked.
"HA, get fucked!!"
Zetsu looked at Hidan who was practically laughing his ass off. He was about to get on his ass, but Itachi stopped him in his tracks with one look.
"We need to stay focused right now." Itachi said
Itachi jumped down from the high position they were all standing at and went in a different direction of Madara's company. The Akatsuki were secretly informed that they needed to keep an eye out for anyone that looked or acted suspicious. Madara specifically informed them about the Gedo statue. They didn't want it to appear out of nowhere and attack the companies roaming around.
"Kisame, does Samehada sense any strong signatures?" Kisame frowned and turned to look at Samehada. The sword only stayed stiff.
"Aside from Madara's massive chakra, I don't think it senses anything else"
