//Rin's POV- 15 years ago//
The cool air and breeze that greeted me that morning was like every other day. I sat up from my bed and got ready before heading out with my basket to look for more medicinal herbs. This was the daily routine for me for the past 5 years. It had been 5 years since I was found and rescued from my near death. I didn't know where I came from or what had happened to me aside from my name, but the experience made me want to help people and make all kinds of medicine. The hope of figuring out where I came from and who I was made me want to work harder to find a cure for my amnesia.
I wandered over to a stream close to my home and began to collect water. It was all going good until I noticed the water I had collected had turned red in hue as more accumulated in the glass jar. I stood up to examine it and smelt the familiar coppery smell.
Blood . . .
My eyes made their way across the stream and I finally noticed the body of a guy lying face down in the rocks. I put the jar down and ran over before turning him over carefully. A gasp left my lips as I noticed the gaping holes he had in place instead of eyes. Surprisingly, he was actually still breathing. My hands shakily reached down and brushed his damp curly hair away from his pale face.
Without a second thought, I helped him up and swung an arm around my shoulder before pulling him all they way back home. He was heavy and even though I was the well one, it felt like his sheer weight could smoosh me like a bug. His body finally made contact with my bed as I fell to the ground and heaved in exhaustion. Getting him cleaned up was even harder since his wet clothing clung on hos body leaving a wet mess.

I stood in the kitchen letting the peaceful silence take over. The guy was still unconscious in my room and I took the time to prepare some soup before he awoke. It took me quite a lot of time to help heal his wounds, and before then, it was already night. My thoughts ran wild and all I could think about was how did he get into such a condition. The war was over, so I knew something had have to happen aside from that for him to be the way he was.*THUD!!*
My head shot up and I looked at the closed door of my room before putting the knife down, wiped my hands, and walked over to see what had happened. I opened the door slowly and walked in only to see he wasn't in bed or anywhere in sight. Walking in deeper into the room was when I finally felt something sharp and cold press against my neck. I froze and felt my breath hitch.
"Who are you" he said with a raspy voice.
"My name is R-Rin, and I found you in a stream nearby so I brought you here to help you" I said with a shaky voice. He paused for a second before pulling the kunai from my neck and standing there like he didnt just try to kill me. I instantly jumped back a bit and turned to look at him. Obviously he couldn't see, but he somehow managed to make his way around before sitting back on the bed.
"Can I ask you a question?" I said. His head tilted up and instead of eyes looking back at me, white bandages covered that part of his face.
"Go on," he said calmly. I was surprised he didn't question his lack of eyes and sight.
"How exactly did you end up like this?" He only sat there and stayed completely silent. The silence was eerie, but the answer brought me more on edge.
"I jumped from a cliff to die."
Standing their silently, I watched as he laid back down and turned away from me. Knowing why he was so hurt made me back off a bit and give him some space, not before grabbing the few sharp objects that were left in the room and walking out. My hands were trembling and I quickly went back to the kitchen and cooked to get my mind off of things. The sound of simmering food and boiling water felt like white noise. A white noise that I hoped would have lasted. It didn't however, I still needed to care for the guy.
