Chapter 7: The Emerald Forest

Tex's day was going fine until she saw Caboose. Sure, her luck was bad but this was a new level of bad for her, even lower than the time Donut beat her.

"Are we there yet?" asked Caboose for 30th time as he followed her

"Don't ask me that question again" snarled Tex as she walked

"Agent Texas, you're are going the wrong way" said Freckles "Turn left"

Tex turned and thought "What did I do to deserve this?". She sighed and inhaled smoke. "Wait. Smoke?"

Tex saw smoke and fire in the distance and saw Weiss and Ruby running away from it

"Caboose, follow me" She said while running towards them

"What was that?!" asked Ruby to the heiress "That should've been easy!"

"Well, perhaps you have exercised the slightest amount of caution with the placement of your strikes, I wouldn't set the forest on fire!" defended Weiss

"What's that supposed to mean?!"

"I'm just surprised someone who talks so much talks so little during an encounter"

"Well I'm sorry you need my help to win in a fight. I'm just fine on my own"

"Well, congratulations on being the strongest child to sneak your way to Beacon, bravo" Weiss turns around to leave, only to be stopped by Tex

"And congrats to you on being the bitching queen" snarked Texas "Believe me, it's a very hard title to get"

Weiss was about to say something but bites her lips, pouts and leaves. Tex then turns to Ruby

"She's right, though. You should commutate a bit if you're fighting along with someone"

Weiss screams and Ruby and Tex turns to face the danger then Caboose runs past them and crashes into a tree breaking it with Freckles in front of him

"Sorry but you ran way to fast and I had to run to catch up to you" said Caboose "Hi, Ruby. Hi, Wiess"

"You could have crashed into me!" screamed Weiss

"Oh sorry, I thought you were just a rock"

"Um, what?" asked Ruby

"You'll get used to him nearly killing you" said Tex as she leaves 

"What's that supposed to mean?!" said Weiss as she follows her along with Ruby and Caboose

As they leave, a giant black feather gently floats down the air and lands on the logs of the tree that Caboose ran into

Jaune and Pyrrha, after getting Jaune down, make their way towards the ruins when explosions and gunfire rang off in the distance

"Did you hear that?" asked Jaune

"Gunfire" responded Pyrrha "It seems some of our comrades have encountered the enemy"

They hear rocks tumbling down. Pyrrha pushes Jaune out of the way and rolls out of danger before the rocks fell.

"That was a close one" said Jaune on his back. 

He hears screaming above him and looks up. Simmons and Grif then land on him.

"Ow, the back of my head" said Simmons as he got up "Dammit, Grif! I told you not to struggle"

"And what, Simmons?" asked Grif, doing the same "Wait till the end of the day to be stuck in a crater with sharp rocks pointing on your back? Yeah, don't think so"
