Chapter 5: Extracurricular

Pyrrha was in Gylnda's combat class and she was fighting all of Team CRDL. This was extremely unfair for CRDL

Although, they outnumbered her, they didn't outmatch her speed and reflexes. She also had more experience than all of them, having fought in tournaments. So it should be surprise that she took out Cardin and his cronies

Glynda approaches from behind Cardin who clutches his ribs.

"And that's the match" She stated

"Lucky shot..." Cardin then promptly fell to the ground

"Well done, Miss Nikos. You should have no problem qualifying for the tournament"

"Thank you, professor" Pyrrha replied

"Alright, now I know that's a tough act to follow, but we have time for one more sparring match" Glynda looks around at the observing students. Her eyes fell on one certaun student. "Ms. Belladonna? You've been rather docile for the past few classes. Why don't you -"

Mercury raises his hand. "I'll do it"

"Mercury, is it? Very well, let's find you an opponent"

"Actually, I wanna fight... her" Mercury points to Pyrrha.

"Me?" asked Pyrrha

"I'm afraid Miss Nikos has just finished the match. I recommend you choose another partner" Goodwitch advised

Pyrrha, however, was too polite to turn her down. "No, it's fine! I'd be happy to oblige"

"I'll fight him" said someone in the crowd

They turned to see no other than Texas having Tucker in a choke hold

"Tex, that's nice of you but-"

"First of all, you just fought. You need rest" stated Tex. "Second of all, Church woke me up earlier than usual, Caboose was rambling, and Tucker touched my boob" She tightened her grip on Tucker. "So I really need to blow off steam"

Pyrrha was hesitant. She heard from CLMA and SDGL how violent she can really be. She looked at Church with his hands together, mouthing "Just do it"

"Well, if you insist" Pyrrha walked towards her team. She passed by Tex who released Tucker who was gasping for air

Tex walks into the arena and faces Mercury, visibly sizing her up. When the match starts, he makes the first move

He launches himself towards Tex. She blocks the flying kick and launches him back. She quickly catches his leg mid-air and flings him away. Recovering quickly, Mercury gets up and dodges bullets being fired by Tex. He quickly flanks her and does a swing kick that is deflected by the ranger. They begin to trade blows with each other untill Tex smacks him with the Betas, holds his head and headbutts him away.

Ruby Rose in the crowd of spectators turns toward Emerald sitting behind her

"Hey, your friend's doing pretty good" She complemented

Emerald gives a smile to the silver-eyeed girl. However, she drops it and then rolls her eyes as Ruby turns her back

Mercury unleashes a series of powerful strikes. Tex allows his kick to slam against her forearm before Mercury manages to kick away one of her guns. This doesn't stop Tex from hitting him with the grip of the other one. She then unleashed a series of quick jabs to his chest and went for a swing at his face

Fearing that Tex was becoming a bit too violent, Pyrrha subtly used her Semblance to redirect Tex's punch to miss. Mercury takes notice of this and shoots off Tex's chest plate. When he lands, Tex quickly recovers and charges at him, charging up a punch
