Chapter 9: Search And Destroy

"Professor Oobleck?" asked Weiss as he talked extremely fast as normal

"Yes, I'm afraid those bags won't be necessary, girls, seeing as you've opted to shadow a Huntsman on what is now essentially a reconnaissance mission. I can assure you, we will not be establishing a single base of operations; rather, we will be traversing several miles of hazardous wasteland and making camp in any defendable locations we may stumble upon. I packed all of our essentials myself, plotted our air course, and readied the airship. And..." Gets up close to Weiss's face. "It's Doctor Oobleck. I didn't earn the PhD for fun, thank you very much!" He quickly backs away.

Weiss looks over at Blake, Ren and Grif, who are equally disturbed.

"Doctor Oobleck?" said Caboose. "Aren't we already three minutes behind schedule?"

"Quite right, Caboose!" agreed Oohbleck. "Come now, children, we are already three minutes behind!." Then, as an afterthought to clarify. "...schedule!" He zips off to the airship docked farther ahead in a second.

"He's quite right, men and women!" said Sarge. "Let's get a move on! Double time!" He then sprinted towards the airship

"Well, alright, then! Looks like we're going to save the world with Doctor Oooobleck." said Ruby, positive and upbeat. "Okay yeah when you say it out loud it sounds worse." Ruby then turned depressed as the rest of their group

"Tell me about it" said Grif

"Come on!" said Doc. "It'll be fun!"

"It will be a fucking disaster" commented O'Malley

"Save the world?" said a voice

The group turned to see Team JACK approaching

"You're going on world-saving missions again, Tucker?" asked Palomo

"Again?" asked Blake, curious

"Heck, yeah" said Tucker, suddenly upbeat and ignored Blake. "Jealous?"

"A bit, yeah!"

"Please be careful" said Jensen

"We'll be fine!" reassured Simmons. "Nothing could go wrong"

Team CLMA, SDGL, and JACK stayed silent.

"You know, considering who we are, that doesn't sound right"

"¿Tú crees? [You think?]" said Lopez

Jensen kissed him on the cheeck and Simmons' orange robot eye blue screened, and he froze

"Uh, will he be fine?" asked Jensen

"Yeah, just give him a moment to reboot" said Grif

"So where are you guys going?" asked Donut

"We're shadowing a sheriff just outside a kingdom" answered Bitters

"Oh, that sounds nice!" said Nora

"Then you can party with us tonight!" Neptune and Sun approach the two groups. "We're shadowing a crime specialist. All inner-city detective stuff. We get junior badges."

Jaune is awestruck.

"We normally go to the city with you guys, which means stuff's always exploding and junk" added Sun. "So we thought this might be a better way to check out the kingdom when it's, you know... normal."

"Well, I hope you all tread carefully" Wash approached them with his supplies

"Aren't you coming, Mr George?" asked Ruby

"As much as I wish, I sadly have a job here" He raised his mop. "I can't just join you guys without... Losing my job" said Wash, lying about his job

"Well-" Ruby was interrupted by Oobleck and Sarge
