I woke up in my bed of my room. The first thing that popped into my head was my dad. Cancer... he has cancer. I have to talk to him about it before Winter Break is over.
I could hear the tv downstairs and I knew my dad was watching the news. Jolteon was still asleep so I let him rest as I headed downstairs.
"Hey dad." I said.
"Morning dude." My dad said to me.
"Up next, Champion Chris of the Sinnoh Region has retired from being champion as well as Pokémon battling in general. More details after these messages." The news anchor said and commercials began to play.
"Woah... Champion Chris is retiring." My dad said.
"I wonder why." I spoke.
My dad shut the tv off.
"What's your plans for today?" He asked me.
"I think I'm just going to train with my Pokémon for a while." I told him.
My dad stood up out of the couch.
"You know I can help you." He said.
"It'll be alright. We'll be good." I told him.
"Well if you need it give me a call. Taiasia is still asleep upstairs so I'm going to go get some Christmas gifts." He winked at me.
"Oh gotcha." I said.
"Alright I'll be back later." My dad said as he headed out the door.
"Excadrill use focus blast! Buizel use water gun!" I yelled.
"Exca!" Excadrill yelled as it threw a blast of fighting type power at Buizel.
"Bui!" Buizel yelled as it fired a forceful shot of water at the focus blast, the two moves collided and made an explosion.
"Bowrowr!"
"Rab!"
"Jolt!"
All my Pokémon were out of their Poké Balls and watching us train. Aerodactyl silently and closely watched.

"Nice! Now Excadrill you use metal claw and Buizel you dodge it!" I said.
My Pokémon and I were doing some training. Just because it's Winter Break doesn't mean we stop getting stronger.
"Drill!" Excadrill said as its claws began to give off a metallic glow and it dashed towards Buizel.
"Bui!" Buizel yelled as he jumped and dodged it.
