Chapter 44

I feel Dar'ke arms wrap around me. I had just mustered all of my strength to get out that I kept my promise. I am with them...alive and I won. Everything hurts and burns! All my nerve endings are on fire!

I cough up blood every so often. I can make out words as I hear Maini and Dar'ke talk to one a other. I still can't see even when my eyes are opened. Which is a pain in the ass.

I wanted to go back to tracing Dar'ke hand...That's been one thing that's been entertaining me. Since losing my sight and some of my hearing. My sense of smell and touch has been greatly increased!

Dar'ke hands were generally rough and scaley. But he did have some soft smooth scales in between his fingers. The difference in texture was enough of a distraction to keep the pain at bay.

I know Maini had hooked me up to something as the injection site was aching so much it burned cold before burning my veins with hot hell.

Nomi had to get in one last hoorah didn't she? I am confident that I will survive this and make a full recovery...it just sucked going through all of this now.

I feel one of Dar'ke fleshy dreads brush by my face. I reach up to feel it. Gently with out pressure stroking it. It feels like a warm soft fleshy smoothie straw. Kinda like the reusable silicone ones we sold at the station.

I feel Dar'ke stiffen his arms around me at my touch. Shit did I hurt him?  He had many ornaments attached his Dreads. They all must be the same sensation as when we get our ears periced. Ouchy!!

I feel another hot ball of copper fuild rise in my throat. I try to wiggle away but Dar'ke holds me closer I end up vomiting blood and blood clots onto his arm and the floor.

I feel him pull away and then something warm,wet and soft. Start to clean my face off. It feels nice at first then the pressure of the cloth feels like stabbing needles everywhere it touched!

I pull away as it hurts bringing tears to my eyes. I suddenly hear Dar'ke purrs. It calms me down, then I feel Maini's hand against my back. I just about jump out of my skin.

I ended up falling into Dar'ke unable to hold myself up. This was so frustrating I felt like a newborn baby! Helpless to do anything by myself. Who ever gave Nomi that poison I hoped that they would face a 1000 deaths before they actually are dead.

I am surprised that I am even still awake. Usually after major battle with crazy damage I usually sleep for a few days. however I am bright, chipper and annoyed as Fuck!

I am also soooo dirty! Even the blood crusties are hurting! I wonder if I can choke out that I want a shower...that is gonna hurt like pure hell but being clean would feel better afterwards.

My head is against Dar'ke chest, I tilt my head up and squeak out "Shower....clean...please" . Just cause I am sick as all hell there is no reasons to forget manners.

I feel Dar'ke lift me up and we head to   what I hope is a shower....

From Dar'ke perspective

As I hold Chris in my Arms I feel her wiggle a bit. I am not sure if I am hurting her or not. Then all of a sudden she begins to vomits a large amount of blood with large clots.  My arm, and the whole front of my lower body and the floor is bathed in her blood.

I pull away from Chris for a moment and Maini hands me a bucket and a cloth. I use it to wipe Chris's pale face, her over all body temperature was dropping. It was frightening! Suddenly Chris pulls away I see tears in her eyes! I curse at myself for hurting her. I purr at her to comfort her. My Ooman mate was in such distress I didn't know what I should do.
