The last week and a half has passed quickly on the home world. Dar'ke been spending a lot of time with the pups. He even spent the last week in the pups dormitory to sleep with them. It was cute to see them fall asleep to his hunting stories.

It was very heart warming to see. Although Dar'ke was with the pups I wasn't lonely as Lu'Nye was sleeping next to me. My big baby, he seemed to enjoy the company a lot. Sooni had eased up on his training so that he could be my guard.

We trained together during the day. Which left him laughing most of the time. As I generally made a fool of myself. I was to short for the adult to yautja teenage course...I ended up in a lot of mud puddles and face first into the posts.

Nothing a little water couldn't wash off. I was just happy that I got to spend this personal time with him. He was coming more out of his shell. He really had the personality of Krysis. He tried to act like Dar'ke in front of others as that what he thought was expected of him.

My heart broke for my baby for my Lu'Nye. I wish that I could have been there sooner for him. If that is one major regret that I carry in my heart would probably be that.

I had Lu'Nyes head in my lap as he slept. I was stroking his head crest, he was so strong in his own right. I was very proud that he has made it this far. I will do everything I can to support him from now on.

I did chuckle in my mind as in years Lu'Nye was about 200 years older then I was. Mentally we are roughly around the same. Not many individuals have a baby that is older than themselves!

It would be nice to see what we can hunt together when Lu'Nye has the okay from Maini to leave the home world. He would have to make his start in the pit of the ship like all hunters do.

Regardless of bloodline Yautja society had a strict pecking order on the ship. Those that are new but not blooded would be housed in a large hall way called the pit. As rooms were generally reserved for only successful blooded hunters. Regardless of seniority the more trophies, glory and your honor were the deciding factor on who got rooms.

In my case with Dar'ke was highly unusual. As I was a mate to be was the only reason that I was allowed into his room. Otherwise I would have been given a closet as a room inside the pit as I had made high value kills.

Space was a premium on the ship and you really had to fight for your space. I had no doubt that Lu'Nye would be able to secure a room quickly.

The pit was also a right of passage in itself. Most gear was stored in lockers like storage. Any left out was shared property among everyone living there. Most stored pelts and furs in they're lockers to use on the floor to sleep and rest between ship duties and training.

I look at the long Dreads that Lu'Nye had at the time he would be joining the ship they have ornaments clamped on and the dreads would be cut short. Sort of like when people go into the military and they shaved the heads of new recruits.

However in the case of Yautja these fleshy Dreads were very sensitive. This right of passage causes a crazy amount of pain. If an unblooded flinches at all during this process. The ornaments are ripped off and then the process begins again but rougher.

As barbaric as it sounds this is to prepare them for the future. Because during times of the hunt you will be hurt. However flinching or hesitation due to pain can lead to death very quickly if you can't control your reactions and keep a clear head...even under extreme circumstances.

As much as I dislike it I can't argue with it. It was more of a cultural difference. This was just one of those things that I will have to accept.
