Chapter 48

I go and gently try to wake up Chris, Maini would be arriving for her latest checkup. Maini also has something she wants to talk to us about.

Chris seems determined to sleep in as she rolls away from me on the bed and snuggles into the furs. I brush her hair away from her ear and lean in loudly purring. This causes Chris to shiver. She rolls over and gives me what she calls the evil eye.

"Fine I am awake! That's so mean Dar'ke!" She scolds me as she tosses a fur off the bed into my face. I just Chitter laugh at her.

She pulls out fresh clothes out of her inventory and gets dressed quickly.  Just as she finishes Maini comes into the room. "Good to see you both in good health." Maini says

Maini gets to scanning Chris and is still astonished that after 4 days Chris is completely healed. No weakness in her body, no after effects that Maini could see. She had tested Chris body in many ways, everything came back normal.

"Chris you are cleared to leave today. There is no trace of the poison left in your body at all..." Maini says a little confused

"Thank goodness Maini. I can't wait to get out of here and go to the market today" Chris says with a smile looking at me.

"Chris we have to talk about the suppressants...I don't think they are going to work on you." Maini says flatly

I whip my head to look at Maini and then to Chris. We were wearing shocked expressions.

I ask Maini "The suppressants won't work?" Genuinely confused Maini is one of the best healers in all of yautja society.

Maini sighed " Due to Chris's healing factor anything that is medication that is given to her will be seen as a poison. Her body will attack it and flush it out of her system. Given how fast her recent poisoning healed up. A syringe of suppressants would maybe last an hour....if that."

"Maini how long till I go into heat then?" Chris asks with concern in her voice.

"Honestly Chris I don't know. With the recent stress on your body it may put it off another 15 to 30 days. If you're lucky. However I wouldn't recommend the suppressants at this point as the amount you would need for a heat would possibly harm your reproductive system." Maini says in concen

"Soooo meaning that I will probably be having pups a little sooner then expected" Chris says a little worried

I was trying my best to remain neutral. But having pups with Chris right now would be a dream. I know Sooni would be over joyed as well. However I want the choice to be Chris's.

"Chris whatever you decide we can do. If you are worried you can lock yourself in the room till it is over. I can make sure you aren't disrupted" I say to her trying to comfort her.

Chris shakes her head at me "Dar'ke I appreciate the suggestion but it might be better to have pups sooner with one another. I have a feeling Paya is having a hand in this as well. I don't want to get a dream with Paya nagging me like a mother that wants to be a grandmother. " Chris Chuckled

Maini and I look oddly at Chris. She then goes into explanation of the family terms that Oomans traditionally use. Oomans have too many terms for things.

After the all clear from Maini we all head to the dinning hall and make our way to our seats. Chris and Maini are both swarmed by the pups. My youngest female pup comes up to me I pick her up and allow her to eat her meal on my lap. They were growing so fast!

I would like for them to all join us in space but I would need a much larger mother ship. Also it would take a lot of convincing to Sooni to get her to come on long term.
