Chapter 61

When I awoke Chris wasn't in my arms. I shot up and looked around I couldn't see her anywhere. I hear the shower running and relaxed. It unnerved me to know that she had snuck out of my grasp...I need to keep my guard up.

I get up and get dressed and I pop my head into the shower room. The water is off and Chris is toweling off. Her temperature was high. "Dar'ke good morning" she says with a smile.

I reach out and stroke her cheek and purr at her. "Chris you should have woken me up, how long have you've been awake?"

"Dar'ke I have only been awake for a little while. I had to use the waste unit  and I was all hot and sweaty. I needed a cold shower." She says nuzzling my hand.

Her stomach started to growl fiercely, she scowled as she looked down at her tiny belly "Dar'ke wanna have a snack with me?"

"Chris you go ahead and snack, I will wait till breakfast. It's good for you to eat." I say to her. Honestly I think the only one who could keep up with Chris in her current eating habits is Hopper.

"Okay..." she said a little disappointed

She takes out her light Ooman clothes from her inventory. She gets dressed and takes out Sandwiches from her inventory and a jug of chocolate milk.

She finishes it off quickly. "Alright before the little ones protest for more food time to head to the kitchen!!" She  says to me full of energy.

"Chris do you feel up to it? I will walk you down. However if you feel it's to much come back to the room and rest" I growled at her protectively

She hugs me around my waist and nods "Dar'ke I feel fine other then hungry all the time. If I get tired then I will come back to the room. I will follow your orders I promise you." She says to me happily

I can't deny her I really can't. Not that I could before however with her now bearing our pups....I think as I reach down and stroke her belly. I had to resist the urge to lock her in our room.

As if she could read my mind she says "Dar'ke don't even, I would find a way out regardless. Plus it's going to be close to a year till we have the pups in our arms. Its healthier to move around and help out. I know I have limits now and I will be better to respect them. Don't worry my Space Cat its gonna be fine."

I chittered at her and we head out of the room. Not three steps and her stomach demands more food. She sneakily pulls out another bag of jerky. We make our way to the kitchen as she is snacking and cursing.

We arrive at the kitchen and it looks worse then yesterday. OldOne is roaring at Dee and Fa'tae to pick up the pace. They try and rush when they do so they break a large vat of stew spilling it everywhere on the floor. I summon the cleaning bots to help out.

Chris is holding her sides and laughing hard. "Dar'ke see it will be fine!" Shenis laughing so hard she has tears in her eyes.

OldOne and crew notice us standing there. He looked relieved to see that I had summoned the cleaning bots. He also looked a little confused to see Chris.

"OldOne make sure she is not lifting anything. She will also need to snack while working." I give him his orders

"Dee, Fa'tae be careful in the kitchen or you will be punished with double training.!" I growl to them

OldOne nods and gets Chris's station ready. Dee and Fa'tae clean up. I look to Chris "Are you sure you want to be here?" I chittered at her questioningly

"Dar'ke I will be fine plus If you want food to leave the kitchen in a decent manner I think I need to be here." She said with a smile.

I lean down and give her a light head butt and nuzzel her. I take off to head to the bridge to check on how things are going....
